Caleb Jenness and Felix Egharevba are seniors but are returning because of extra Covid year. BSU has 7 new recruits coming but don’t know their names.

Great story in the Muncie Star Press that flew to California to cover the Cardinals in the NCAA Final Four. According to the coaches, BSU has an excellent recruiting class coming next year of 7 and that number could expand. This coaching staff are go-getters and hungry to win BSU’s 1st National Championship. Can you imagine what would likely have happened if the 2022 championship would have been played in Worthen Arena! The new staff would love to see BSU host the NCAA championships soon. Last year BSU hosted in Worthen was 30 years ago in 1992, the first year Worthen Arena opened.

With a little forethought when hiring a basketball coach our b ball program could have this type of enthusiasm too. Thank the coach and his staff for a job well done this year.

Yeah, but if enthusiasm and positive attitude was the only test, we might get a Tom Crean. Our VB guy had positive attitude but backed it up with keeping the team firmly under control and on task.

I agree with you 00. Bball teams in many schools think they have to an assistant from a named school. I do not think you have to go that way.

I agree with you 00. Bball teams in many schools think they have to an assistant from a named school. I do not think you have to go that way. I like the choice of Lewis, but having somebody who has been a successful decision maker as HC somewhere is awfully valuable. Every brand new HC will make a few mistakes and learn some things only from OJT.
The big school D1 assistant in BB arguably has an edge recruiting over a lower level coach. It's both glamour and experience dealing with recruitment and track record with higher level talent. Best is a coach who has recruited the MAC footprint and having some connection there. Getting an assistant from a B10 school would always be ideal on that count. But a good young HC from a smaller school in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, or Chicago area might be dialed in and have what is needed.
