Ga southern comes back to earth and loses to a not great UAB team.Former Buffalo Qb Kyle Vantrease does what he does and threw 3 picks. Just like when he was at Buffalo the key to winning is to shut down the run and make Vantrease beat us through the air. Throw that Nebraska win out the window they are garbage.
Looking further ahead Lombardi for Niu left the game with an injury today
BG also beat marshall for the macs best win of the season

Gotta keep GASO’s run game in check and I think we have a good shot of winning. Can’t ease is a turnover machine so I don’t think he can single-handedly beat us. I hope our LB’s are ready to shine in this game!

I’m not really sure what’s going on with them but I’m not mad about it.

I don't think we will beat Ga. Southern, or NIU even without Lombardi. Their speed kills We will not beat Toledo or anybody else in the MAC because of our predictability and problems in both OL and lack of speed in running backs. We will beat U Conn they are really bad. I really, really hope I am wrong.

I really, really hope I am wrong. No, that’s about right. We aren’t fast enough, especially on offense. Backs need big holes to get sprung, we can’t really run wide. Wrs get hit as soon as they catch the ball. Most of our offense is between the tackles on runs and we don’t spread defenses out. They play 8 in the box against us all the time. Most of our passes are to the boundaries and Wrs have little opportunity to get yards after the catch. We don’t use the middle of the feld much and when we do we get passes knocked down. The one deep ball we really tried Jackson was beyond his man but paddock rushed the throw and over threw it by 5 yards. Paddock was just off yesterday. Timing was off and everything was sailing. If we can’t get Steele going in first quarters we’re really going to struggle the rest of the way. A good opponent yesterday would have had us down 14 at the half; the first half was that bad. We’re a young team. Not many wins this year but hopefully the studs stuck with us and next year we start seeing it. In my opinion Paddock is not the answer. He’s ok and would be alright with a dominant oline and running game but we don’t have that. So why not give the more dynamic guys behind him some shots. We aren’t going bowling this year anyway. As long as a Lynch is running out offense we’re going to be predictable, herky jerky and inconsistent. Put up big numbers one week and be a cluster F, shoot our selves in the foot mess the next. Even possession to possession. I hope we’re better then that but we see what we see.

NIU’s QB and top WR are hurt (WR out for year) Miami’s QB is hurt Central is in a funk and top WR gone for the year Akron and Ohio are rebuilding Kent has a beast of a non-conf schedule I’m saying if we can just stay healthy our chances might be better than what the on-field product has looked like so far. Other key players from our opponents in the MAC are dropping like flies. In terms of the GASO game…we haven’t won an away non conf game since 2016! We’re gonna need a little magic just get that curse out of our system. If we win this one I’m gonna feel pretty optimistic about what can happen the rest of the way.

Lynch May be the O-Coach, but Neu is the head coach. Neu was a good quarterback, coached Arena Football where passing is king, coached a great NFL QB - you’d think he’d take over the Qi coaching and make things happen.

Any word on injuries ? I know Will Jones went out early, injured. Then we had a lineman come out and last, one of the two starting tight ends hobbled off the field at the very end of the game when he shouldn't even have been playing.

The big 6-6 321lb lineman went out and into the tent. Later came back into the game and got hurt again and went out. Talking about speed I thought Marcus was fast but he has not played but maybe one or two plays.

Do we have a former linemen poster or maybe one lurking that comment or add insight on the line. If we believe what we hear or strictly look at stats the o line appears or we are told they are playing well. While most of us on here don’t think that’s the case at all.
