Central is off to a 1-4 start. Only win has been Bucknell.
They are hungry and at home. BSU needs to bring an error free game. BSU offense will compete, but I worry a bit with our D.

I was at the Bucknell game. CMU didn't do much until Bucknell was down to their third string QB. They just couldn't get anything going, so CMU capitalized on big mistakes. CMU is not good at all.

I am surprised the spread is that large. Is home field that big of an advantage? We were +4.5 vs NIU. They must think CMU is better than they have played so far. Vegas usually good with their numbers, so this concerns me a bit. I still think we have a great chance of getting the W.

I am not much of a gambler but doesn’t vegas set the line not necessarily as they think the game will play out but in order to get balanced betting on each side?

You are correct Jackson. The point spreads are calculated on 50% of the betters on each half. When the betting is uneven the point spread is moved to direct move action on the short side. This is brought out in big games when the betting is heavy favoring one side and no movement can stop the action and draw it to the other side of the betting line and many times those games are removed from the board.

BSU needs to play smart -- no stupid penalties; no turnovers -- and just execute and I think the Cards get a road win.

I guess I just feel like CMU has been terrible. I thought line would’ve been under 7.

CMU is way better than their record. Nichols absolutely mauled us last year and he's still there. Until we prove we can put together 4 good quarters of football in the same game I don't believe we can beat a team like CMU that's tough and physical. We certainly can't wait 30 minutes to start playing.

Stop Nichols and we have a chance. I think some of their receivers are hurt or have been hurt.

Well, you know that Jalen McGaughy has had this game circled on the CMU schedule.

Doesn't appear that he had any receptions against Toledo last week.

They also lost their left and right offensive tackles to the draft this year (#2 draft pics). Slow down Nichols on 1 & 2nd down and we should be able to blitz and play man on expected passing downs. If Nic Jones and Koziol are back we should have a really good shot in this game. They are a much weaker team than last year's sleeping juggernaut that obliterated us.

Their board is speculating that he’s in the doghouse.
