NIU? Really? I'd believe Ohio or MIami with Buffalo, but not NIU. Texas will only consider the 10% of each Texas HS. That's why most of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State's enrollment is from Texas. Arizona State. California's party school.

Acceptance rate can be deceptive.
Who applies? What do the applicants look like in terms of qualification?
If you look at freshman class profile and compare you might get a better picture.
The same students don't apply to MAC and B10 schools, acceptance rate doesn't capture the differences by itself.

Acceptance rate can be deceptive. Who applies? What do the applicants look like in terms of qualification? I saw the note for Liberty at the bottom, that says 99%. Of course, it's a Christian school, so that eliminates a ton of applicants. Most kids who apply there are applying because it's a Christian school. I'd be interested to see BYU's rate.

No wonder Andy got into Cornell, they'll accept anybody! That was my target school.
With best scholarships available it was a bargain. But then there was the cost of Nordic wardrobe and trekking equipment to get around campus.
