Student section was better but could be so much more. We need them at every game raising hell. Kudos to the Miami students who sat up high on the student section. When one of them banged on the bleacher backs it was booming. Take note BSU students. Aaah! I kept hearing students yell "brick" when we were shooting free throws. Nice to know it was Miami students lol

Kent State is only averaging around 1,000 people in attendance. Pretty sad for how successful the team is this year KSU needs to hire the person doing attendance for BSU women’s basketball games. There may have been 850 people at the 11:00 Saturday morning game with Miami and BSU listed the attendance at over 3100! The south side of the Arena did not have more than 125 people. The men’s game attendance was much more accurate.

Someone always fudges the wonens attendance I wonder why. No one wants to see that we have 850 people at a game. I couldn’t agree with you more but they sure don’t mind listing extremely low attendance at women’s and men’s volleyball matches that usually double women’s basketball attendance. If I was Kelli Miller or Donan Cruz, I would be extremely disappointed that every women’s basketball crowd is inflated to over 1000 people where nearly every women’s and men’s volleyball match is listed well under 1000 fans. The only sport inside Worthen Arena where attendance seems fairly accurate is men’s basketball.

interested to see the student crowd tonight. could be a big draw. There is nothing better to do on a Tuesday night so I am hoping for a big student turnout. The saturday games are tougher because students go home for the weekend sometimes and there are endless other options for entertainment.

The student mindset has changed since a lot of us were undergrads. We always say there is nothing better for them to do, yet they always seem to find something better to do.

Sorry, I did not see a huge student crowd. The nest was very empty. There have been times, though not this year, football games could draw around 6,000 students. If we had a similar number for basketball games we could really have a rocking arena of close to 10,000 fans. That would make the dreams of filling the place a real possibility!

I would guess the attendance would drop off from Saturday because it's harder for non-Muncie folk to make it. The students have to fill that gap.

If we had a similar number for basketball games we could really have a rocking arena of close to 10,000 fans. That would make the dreams of filling the place a real possibility! Sorry but I disagree. This is about baby steps and the past 2-3 years we've been lucky to have 50 students in the nest. Saturday we had closer to 300-400, maybe even 500. That is a huge leap and most importantly, we won! Our M.O. under Whitford was to have some non-con success and then lay a turd when the students came back from break and adios. If we can keep up this home mojo and Coach Mike continues to engage with the students and fans like he has thus far, maybe we can get that student number up to 1500 or so. That would be a huge win. 6,000 is just not gonna happen probably ever unless we somehow win the league and the tournament and win a game in the Dance. If that happened, we could actually be relevant again in Muncie and among the larger student population. Of course, if we did all of that then Lewis is probably on to a bigger gig. For now, I'll take the 500 and hope we can build that up. Speaking of Coach Mike, one more reason to love this guy is he gives honest interviews on our shortcomings and what we need to do better. That is a sign of respect for your fans not using "coach speak". Too many coaches and administrators will tell you it's raining while they're pissing on your shoes. I contend the vast majority of non-casual fans are smart enough and have seen enough good and bad play to know the difference. Kudos to him for his candor which is another trait he inherited from his former coach.

It's been more than 50, just looks that way.
But less than 300, that's an improvement. Lewis surely is better at engaging students!
I doubt we'll see 1500 students unless it's a bigger name school or a championship game with a ton of promotion. Not even free dogs will do that.
