Admittedly, I thought Linc Darner had some coaching “upside” left in him and hoped that he could have some positive influence on us while he was here.
That being said, his replacement at Green Bay is now 15-57 and has the Phoenix crashing and burning to #358 in his 3rd season.
Oh, and Green Bay is still paying Darner this year.

Only his third season? Too soon to judge. Give him a 6 year extension and then we should have some data.

No idea what the problem is up there, but those boosters who funded the Darner change better have deep pockets to pony up again.

He must have done something to piss someone off up there. Neither party discusses it per the agreement.

The silence on that situation is so interesting. It really makes you wonder what the heck happened.

Something rotten in Denmark.
When EVERY coach is the problem, that's not the problem.
AD awfully active. Maybe he's next to go.

Money well spent. Green Bay is now just a whisker away from plummeting all the way to the bottom. 362 out of 363. IUPUI has soared to #360

Money well spent. Green Bay is now just a whisker away from plummeting all the way to the bottom. 362 out of 363. IUPUI has soared to #360 When it goes bad, it snowballs. For their sake I hope no coach decision there has poisoned their program like we saw here. How a single dysfunctional coach could send things into a black hole. So to speak...
And that choice of a coach, and then later the longer term issues resulting from expense of "fixing" coaching in both BB and FB around the same time really proved to impossible to handle for our AD(s), who nobody thought were genius it is true. This AD has thrown money at it and seems determined to do it again. But you have to wonder what the hell the real problem is.
We've kicked around for 20 years how we got in trouble, how overconfidence, and Buckley extension when there was sign of trouble, ultimately led to a President taking "bold action" for a fix. I don't think we sunk this low at this expense. Is "avoiding that BSU scenario" what happened here? Or what?
If this is internal corruption, or if it is the AD really screwing up on a rescue plan, or if it is panic and desperation, he at risk of making our going to Boring, and Billy Ball look like genius AD reaction. None of us have ever thought that.
