Have to do better Toledo game. No excuse not to expect bigger crowd.
Kent on a week night should be promoted and if so better be ready for crowd this big anyway.

Students will be on spring break for the Toledo game. Probably won't even have a band.

I got to the game about 2:15 and the ticket line was out the door. I was really blown away and expected attendance to be huge. Then I realized that the line was huge because it was so slow moving. Based on that initial expectation the arena looked emptier than I expected.

That's a fine idea other than the fact that it's a sectional night.

Here is my recommendation. Beg the students to put off leaving until Saturday with a full blown Student Appreciation Night. Food. Beer. All free.

Begging students to do anything is a doubtful strategy. Leaving town early is baked into BSU student life.
Free food and drink will challenge our inept concessions operation but would help if the promotion of the game succeeds to make it a real event.
Perhaps offering post game entertainment in Worthen, an after party celebration with food and drink concessions open? Or alternatively enlisting local bars to promote an after game, Spring Break is here party night? All discounts a half hour after game...

Students will bounce for sure... Sectionals going on it will be a light crowd. I know with it being sectionals that takes 20-25 people out just that I know

That's a fine idea other than the fact that it's a sectional night. well poop Yes poop. That's going to cut into the local crowd too. It is the semi-final sectional night so there will be some eliminated schools. Some of our 3500+ crowds were more lively than the bigger ones. What we need is an intimidating, blood thirsty crowd. The students are really the key to that. We need to get 600-1000 of them to stay in town until Saturday and go to the game.

Eastern has its second highest attendance ever tonight with 5300 People prefer evening games I watched a little bit of this one and i think they did a Womens/Mens combined double header and 5300 was the total for the day. Also there were def some toledo fans there helping that number too.

Ok, but I think our ticket office and promotion people are overwhelmed with the crowds we do get. I have a white parking ticket but yet I never get a parking spot because nobody checks the Health clinic access of the White parking area. I can't blame people to "backdoor" the parking lots, nobody is there to stop them! At the BG game, I arrived 25 minutes early but the white lot was full. Fed up, I drove up to the half-full gold lot and told the cop the deal and he let me park in the Gold lot(which remained half empty!). The AD needs to address the farce called BSU parking.
As I travel back and forth from the Simon Cancer Center and Muncie, I am impressed with the BSU Men's basketball ads on 1070 the Fan. We need more of that kind of promotion!
And hello, when you expect a bigger crowd, why cant there be more concessions open? Ok, done with rant!

New AD can put that on his list.
Beth didn't exactly need to have that concern in recent past and this year the budget was tight.
Concessions have not been a big profit center, but no question our promotion and game day can improve and keep those bigger crowds happy.
