Weve talked about being mediocre for years. This year we Beat Akron Kent and Toledo in the same year that has not happened very often in a while. I dont think we will win the tournament. But unlike years past we cant just sit here and talk about how we know we are getting smacked. We very well could lose but its not guaranteed This was game we should be more pleased with than disappointed. We played without Coleman, with Sparks and Pearson less than full speed. We hung together, may have found a missing X factor if Windham is for real and can build a bit of consistency. A bench with Bumb, Jihad and Windham is possibly a strength. At least offensively. IF that, and IF the injuries can heal, we do have chances in Cleveland. I still like chances better if Toledo #1. Quite a conflict, I hesitate to say it, I'm not sure it's best we win Friday. But I will love to see it. |

I’m getting tired of hearing how good Akron is! The announcers, though announcing many Ball State games, to be clearly rooting for Akron! That play by guy tonight was just nauseating! Did you know Sparks weighs 250? How many times was that posted out? |

At one point they said he was 6' 10" instead of his actual 6' 9". It was like they had to justify Akron's inability to contain him by making him seem bigger than he actually is. |

Overall it was a very good effort by the Cards other than that late stretch where we had 4-5 possessions where we either had turnovers (Jihad & Sparks) or bad shots. That’s where we missed Boogie as he can create his own shot.
That’s the one glaring weakness in Sellers game. I think we all agree he has the best shooting stroke on the team. But, good defenses have taken away his left hand drives and his catch-square-shoot opportunities. We really need him to work on his handles this off season and develop the ability to go hard to his right as well as a step back jumper. That’s currently the difference between Sellers and the league’s top guards like Carry & Castaneda.
