Coaches with good returning players usually like to have more time to work with a team and have practice that means something. It is also a mild recruiting plus.
Certainly worth the price of admission if they can win a game

Not really. if we are going to spend 40K on pay to play and expenses I would rather spend that on a recruiting trip or two and maybe some NIL incentives. Playing in the worthless CBI is a joke and we are beat up. Let's heal up, keep our core four, show a few the door and go get some more! |

My guess is Lewis and staff would want to accept. Admin might not.
Not that big a deal either way. But I'm not counting on the money saved being spent on BB.

Indiana State has not played in a postseason game since 2014, so that was probably a key driver in their decision to enter the CBI.
For USI, DI is a new experience for them.
Both are trying to give the players a taste to whet their appetite.
BSU did that a bit too frequently prior to Covid.
