Edey returns to Purdue. He must have a NICE NIL package. Somewhere in 6 figures for playing BB isn't bad. Perks include educational benefits, room and board.
If he spends a year working on areas where pros want him to be better, some chance he improves pro prospects.

Great college player, not well suited to today's NBA game. Can't hit the 3, only plays within 12 feet of the basket. Has to find more range.

Some serious issues on defense against the very common pick and roll offense. Can't get out to defend shooter if needed. Best suited as a one man zone defense... |

Lot's of people can hit 3's. Not so many are 7-4, are strong as an ox, possess a good attitude and intelligence, and are reasonably basketball-skilled and agile. In fact, you can just about count the earth's population of such people on your fingers.
Not saying Edey will be a great NBA player, but he will have a 10+ year career.

In fact, you can just about count the earth's population of such people on your fingers. Not saying Edey will be a great NBA player, but he will have a 10+ year career. Maybe Rik Smits is still around Zionsville and can go up I-65 to work with Edey on outside shooting. Smits had a nice inside-outside game balance. |
