The odd thing is even though our record has not been great or even good over the last few years but we have a bunch of talent. Enough to be able to at least compete with anyone in the MAC. When you look at the depth chart we have flipped the roster only a few seniors on it. Some true freshman who we think are going to be good. The cabinets not bear by any means. We have talked down the receivers but I think we are going to be ok for this year. Now if there is a coaching change Im sure that all changes but with the portal a rebuild is not a 4 year job anymore

Ty Robinson had a solid opening performance and seems to be the pickup we thought he would be. Magwood also flashed some. The depth of the position is questionable at this time, though that may change as the year goes on. Kelly’s athleticism makes him an ideal candidate for someone on sweeps and screens. The 3 quarterback platoon can’t go on for much longer. If Kelly isn’t the starter and he can help elsewhere, makes sense to move him. I have no insider knowledge of the organization, so I don’t know what the issues are right now with naming the starter at quarterback. It feels like there is more than meets the eye though. Anyone who watched the game Saturday, whether they played/coached football or not, could see a different level of play from Semonza. If it was UK’s backups, that’d be one thing, but UK left their starters in for the whole game. Even if they played more zone against Semonza, he still looked like a vet in his decision making, poise, and threw a catchable ball. It’ll be interesting to see how long this is allowed to play out.

Ok I am going to say it. Semonza has the same "IT" as Davis and Wenning and Neu. I think back to the Nebraska game where Davis just shredded the Nebraska defense. At the end of that game the Nebraska QB with a shell shocked look muttered "That QB" meaning Davis. Our games against hapless IU where the "IT" factor really showed up. Hatcher has some of the "IT" factor but maybe not as much. MAC games will reveal much about all three of them. If we can get a first down against Georgia then I say that is a success and then get the hell out of Athens and get ready for Indiana State.

When we line up tomorrow 11-11 99% of our guys will never line up against a better player than they see tomorrow. So Ill be watching too see what guys on our roster do make plays and do positive things. If they can make tomorrow they can against anyone else. What ever the final score is does not matter

maybe this is why semonza was not really phased at Kentucky... He had to practice against this guy everyday

BSU's defense will gain a big advantage after Georgia's offensive skill players are worn down from multiple sprints to the endzone. They can't be any more than...what...five deep at receiver and RB.

This is about playing as well as we can as a team, too. Even second team players from a top team, much less #1, would be more talented. The gap isn't maybe such a giant one against some low level P4 teams, but the depth of talent there is usually a substantial difference.

While I think he is a leader and has great pocket presence, he is not in the same class as Wenning or Davis at this point based on arm strength imho. His arm strength is plenty good enough to be an all MAC performer and win a lot of games, but I don't see an NFL-ish arm at this point.

NIU lost to OSU in 2015 by 7. That OSU team had the future NFL:
• Highest-paid QB ever. • Highest-paid WR ever. • Highest-paid RB ever. • Highest-paid edge ever. • Highest-paid CB ever. • Top 5 highest-paid OT ever.

Regardless how this game goes, and we all expect it to go very badly for us, it is just cool to get this opportunity to play Georgia. No serious injuries please!

Honestly I would rather not see Semonza on the field today. He's either going to get killed or put out an invitation for a more prominent program to start pursuing him if he does well.
