Our program has gotten so soft they’ve muted the comments on Twitter. No backbone, no accountability…just fucking soft. They have also started to block nay sayers. Doubt I survive with out getting blocked sad day

The program needs a complete overhaul. The coaching is substandard at just about every position. Great guys, but every week we get out everythinged by our opponents. We’re soft. We lack speed. We lack size. We lack the ability to make in game adjustments. We lack a feel for offense. We’re just dead in the water and it can’t continue.
We’re about to be 1-7. Toledo is going to absolutely level us. Does Mearns even care?

The whole staff needs to go.

Every week is a new/neu low point for our football program now. Extremely frustrating to watch this team.

Wait. Does this mean BSU may not have the opportunity to spend another million dollars to send the team to a some fifth rate bowl that exists to fill an obscure December time slot for ESPN?

We have steadily gotten worse! Get rid of the entire staff and begin thinking about basketball! At least Coach Lewis can coach

Doubt I survive with out getting blocked sad day Why would we be surprised? What would be best in our public response? They shouldn't panic about upset fans, but they would be mismanaging if they let their social media be completely out of control too. No corporate media policy would allow everything we do here. Following the sentiments here and firing the staff mid season isn't very likely a choice, anymore than dropping football. Schools that do that successfully have big time resources. We have the luxury of venting among ourselves without a great deal of consequences. They're dealt a losing hand and probably have to think about damage control, immediately, not real solutions... Pretending there's no problem isn't best, but the question is how much meltdown is an answer to anything?

Just about as much as I doubt we'll see any real answer. I'm truly convinced there's no long term answer in FB. Mediocre is looking out of reach. BB will be no picnic this year, but I agree we can have more confidence we can expect the coach to do more to give us hope he's got an idea how to deal with problems. We're seeing bad situation here spiraling out of control

At this point I'd be happy with mediocre football. We suck mightily.

Hi, first time posting here. I have a question about Charlie Spegal. It appears they have a couple better options on the team right now, but given that the QB play does not appear to be real steady and their defense needs as much time as possible off the feel to stay competitive, why not try using a bruising guy like Spegal for some ground and pound. The O-line may not be great but I know that in practice when he was at IU the defense disliked going against him in full contact drills because he was a really punishing runner and hard to tackle. And that was against B10 defensive players (admittedly IU players, but still…).
It just seems like against MAC teams a guy like Spegal could pretty steadily grind out 3-4 yards a carry reliably even with a weak O-line and help keep the offense on the field and wear down the defense. He was never going to get a shot at meaningful reps at IU, but I thought at BSU maybe they’d use him to throw something at defenses that they weren’t used to seeing.
And no, I am not from New Pal, I don’t know the family, and have no dog in the fight. Just wondering why the guy doesn’t get a shot given the current struggles with the offense.

“As a sophomore in 2021, he rushed for 1,205 yards and 11 touchdowns. As a junior in 2022, he had his second consecutive 1,000-yard season. Against Ohio on October 1, he set career-highs with 40 carries and 240 rushing yards.[3] During the 2022 season, he totaled 1,331 yards and 13 touchdowns.[4] He was named First team All-MAC in 2022 after being on the second team in 2021”
Above is a guy that would fit the same bill and we don’t seem to find a way to use him 🤷♂️
