Very cool! Makes me long for a simpler/better time.

That simpler/better time include 16 more months of the Vietnam War, The resignation of Richard Nixon and the fall out of 1973 Yom Kippur War resulting in the resignation of Golda Meir. Looks like the fallout from that war has stuck around. Women got really pissed as they are today about equal rights. Even so that they burned their bras or put them around their necks in marches. I had season tickets for the 74-75 season. Wished I had kept them. If you could time travel which period would you go to have a simpler better life. Fo r me I would skip the 1960s. Got married in 1968. Nothing simple or better about that year except for my wife. Still married to her.

I'll always see the 80's as the best decade of my lifetime. Sure, plenty of problems and conflicts, but man, so much great stuff going on around us. My college years were pretty carefree and I didn't feel near the level of anxiety during the 80s as I have since 2001.

There was a period in there where mid major sports was more fun, for sure. Even in the high majors, programs were still mostly regional with local players and much more importance to home gate than TV revenue. ESPN and national television games had not yet really become a norm excepting a few programs, even at that level money had not yet made it impossible for BSU to get some big games.

On a related note, I've heard it said that people regard the pinnacle of popular music as the year in which they turned 17.
I've asked around and find this is mostly true.

I think the pinnacle of popular music was about 1966, and I was NOT yet 17 at that point. But I'm probably atypical.
