Everybody's got it wrong. It's got nothing to do with the logo. It's all about the "Chirp." The "Chirp" was adopted around 2004 I think. In the 20 years before that we had won the MAC something like 6 times? In the 20 years since we've won it 0? Time to "Choke the Chirp." Damn if you’re not on to something Or just ON something...

Yeah, I'm not much a fan of the "chirp." But then again I despise "boiler up." "O-H" ain't much better than either. Maybe it's me?

I would rather choke Dancing Charlie. When we were in the ICC in the 60s nobody outside of Ball State gave a shit about how our teams did and 9 out of ten didn't know that we had a logo let alone a dancing one. Dancing Charlie is just too cute for words. If I was an opponent I would certainly trash talk about "Cutie Pie" on the side of your helmet.

If it were fire breathing stomping Charley I'd be happier. I could see a use for both, but I guess I favor the generic robo image. For a floor logo especially, the party hard Charley mascot can dance and strut along the sidelines.
Let the market decide for the merchandise and the players and coaches decide on uniforms.

If we’re trying to intimidate we should switch to some sort of jungle cat and let 2 or 3 of them roam during the games.

Every time they play the lion growl at Penn State I have to mute the TV.

No danger of that with chirping.

Lose the chirp...Opposing fans use that against us as pussified.
It has always been, and should always be "Ball U.,,Ball U...Ball U!"
I'd be good with Heismann Charlie

OSU has a cartoonish tree nut for their logo. I’m sure Michigan State expects to roll tonight after seeing that.

Retire the Robo Logo! Let’s admit that Robo isn’t exactly intimidating many opponents anyway. Coaches and players seem to like Dancin’ Charlie. Let’s Go! I noticed Louisville football has incorporated a “Heisman Charlie” this year. Strangely similar to DC. Louisville has used that logo for many years as its football logo. They use the snearing head on their helmets, but used the Heisman Cardinal (not Charlie, that's BSU) for football on quite a bit of their football merchandise.

I suggest using "Robo Charlie" for every day use for all sports. Break out "Dancing Charlie" for special events or occasions, otherwise folks just take both logos for granted.

WYO had for a long time the saying "Cowboy Up!" Joe Tiller likes it when he was in Laramie, then brings it to Purdue. The Boilers think they created something original. What hacks!
