He can finally escape that hellhole of San Diego and return to beautiful Muncie.

I am sure he won't be coming back to Muncie. But won't be surprised to see him return to college football as an assistant coach.

104-91 career has earned him a pretty healthy retirement

Could Hoke/Parrish have duplicated their success with Kelly Page and/or Keith Wenning had they stuck around Muncie?

Possible, but that would be all Parrish. Great offensive assistant. Very good HC at lower level.
Couldn't handle HC duties here. Don't think he ever had a great dual threat QB.

Granted, I didn’t see any teams live before the mid 80s, but Nate Davis has to be one of the all time best QBs at Ball State - And in the MAC, for that matter. Maybe Ball State’s best. Parrish unlocked his talents. Parrish was amazing in that regard. I’m sure he had played a significant role in Brad Johnson’s performance leading to and winning the 2002 Super Bowl.

Didn't realize he was about to be fired. At least he walks away with a nice payday yet to come. Brady was a coach with a limited ceiling. Could have been fired at BSU before he hired Parrish. Got fired from Michigan. Was on the way out at SDSU.

His last four gigs were not stellar. $1.5M more if he would have taken them to the mat. Must have wanted to leave as a “nice guy”.

Hoke's best years at SD St came with Rocky Long as his DC. Long was the equal to Parrish there for him on defense. Long was his DC in 09 & 10 when Hoke left for Michigan. Long was then HC at SD St from 11 to 19. Then gave up the HC job to Hoke for the 20 season (Long was 69) & returned as DC to NM his alma mater. Long was still coaching this past year as DC at Syracuse.
