While Jones may not be scoring or seemingly stuffing the stat sheet, my nickname for him to this point is Mr. Intangibles. He has a real nose for the ball and makes key plays when we need them. He seems to live for loose balls and rebounds. He currently seems to have zero interest in looking for a shot. I'm excited follow his progress. I like what he brings and once he gets confident in taking shots he'll be eventually be a very well rounded and versatile player for us. He'll do a little bit of everything. In general, I'm still not sure we have the right S&C coach for basketball. We have a bunch of guys who need to get stronger.

I will say this Hendrix is tougher and more aggresive in the post than Bashir. We might have to roll with him Bashir is making some good moves on offense in the post, but struggles to block out and get and keep position on defense. Gets caught reaching in when beat.

A couple look like they can add muscle more easily(Doughty, Jones notably), but those long skinny guys(Joey Brown, Micah Bell) take time, and freshmen especially. That Teague eventually added useful muscle is our hope, but it took 3 years. Jihad is still young, looks like he will bulk up, if he works.

Though he has not played a lot, he has shown much better than past years. Some very nice rebounds in traffic. A presence in the middle. Blocks. If he can play the way he showed at this game he will be a big help to this team this year. Hoping he continues to grow.

I liked seeing the team fight back mid-way through the second half, which despite suppressing memories of the Whitford years, I do not recall happening very often.

For the record I expect nothing more than we have seen from hendrixon but we might as well hipe for a story of canadian redemption. The only hope for Canadian redemption is if they put Trudeau on one of Elon's rockets and shoot him into outer space.

Parrish was NOT an offensive liability.
Haven't actually seen Jones, but Matt Kamienecki looks like a better statistical comp.
Rick Hall maybe?

But you're right about Parrish being somebody they had to guard. Kamikazi played bigger. Rough as hell. Jones smarter, more skill with the ball, not nearly as physical but more agile. Rick Hall wasn't as athletic either.

Jones won’t always be a liability in the offense. He’s going to give us something.

Just watched Purdue struggle to beat Marquette.
The MU defense was relentless. Got a lot of baskets in the lane with good interior passing.
Something of a model how you force a big team to beat you outside and on applying pressure on the ball.
The somehow surrounded Edey and 2nd half also didn't give Purdue easy outside shots in flow.
No big time recruits but really intense focused players. Bench players played hard.
PU was losing steam at end, 3 games, 3 days...

The kid has really good instincts, good with the ball, good defender. He can score he’s just Uber focused on the other stuff which I’m guessing is what Lewis has told him.

Mallers was a smart player, good position defender.
Better shooter.
Not quite as strong, athletic or as good with ball.
I'd love it if Jones can shoot as well.
