Why doesn't the NCAA change the football portal entrance date to a date in January after the bowls have concluded. That would also then be after most coaches who are going to be fired have been & hopefully their successors have been named.

Probably because many schools terms end sometime in December and if the portal date is too late transfers couldn’t enroll at the new school in the spring.

That makes sense if we are truly concerned as schools should be about students. However at most P5 schools I am sure they would allow tranferring FB players to start the term up to 2 weeks late.

Unbelievable…. But very exciting too. There are 130ish FBS teams, which translates into 5K starters next year. There are 4K kids in the portal who want to be on an FBS team. There are 5K new or existing kids who are ready to play/start for those FBS teams. All told, given the math, this means increased competition and more intrigue heading into next season. Love it! And, BSU has an experienced QB / RB combination which is likely the most athletically gifted duo in the MAC coming back. Fill those OL spots, better OC and WRs, tighten the D (please keep Stockton), and we’re gunning for a MAC championship.
