It is amazing that with such a good baseball program, BSU draws so little fans, and the games are free.

Interesting for sure, but a few factors: 1. Who is counting for each sport, especially when no tickets are involved? I'd bet BSU baseball averages way more than 111 based on the few games I go to every year. Somebody is just guessing there... 2. How far away are you recruiting from? Sports like this are mostly attended by friends and family, so how far they have to travel to go to games will have an impact on how often they go. 3. How are the other schools counting?
I like the data...keep it comin'!

It's like mid-week MACtion only during working hours. Some people tell me they wish BSU would put lights on the baseball stadium so they could go and watch night games. I tell them I doubt they would really go at night in March and April. I wish the season went later into warmness.

The northern schools are always going to be at a disadvantage. It would make sense to play in the summer for us, the BT & schools in the NE. But face it the southern schools are the NCAA teams & powers. Plus the baseball draft is in June so they want the season over before it gets hot. Agree with the statement no one would watch night baseball until May in Muncie & even then it's 50/50 at night.

HS charges $5-7 per game (or DH) and it does not deter fans from attending. For DI in Indiana & MAC, the following charge at home games: INDIANA |
| | MAC
|
| School | Yes |
| School | Yes | Ball State | |
| Akron |
| Butler |
|
| BGSU |
| Evansville | X |
| CMU |
| ISU | X |
| EMU
|
| IU | X |
| Kent St. | X | Notre Dame | X |
| Miami |
| PFW |
|
| NIU |
| PU | X |
| Ohio |
| USI | X |
| Toledo |
| Valparaiso |
|
| WMU |
|
Admission for these schools is $10-15 per game. Any amount seems like it would help fund the BSU program.

I tell them I doubt they would really go at night in March and April. I wish the season went later into warmness. Lights would help BSU not miss out on games due to bad weather during the day. Also, it opens up the opportunity of leasing the facility to a summer collegiate program and to groups holding summer travel baseball tournaments. HS programs typically have natural grass fields. They need to have alternate facilities to make up games. Bishop Chatard in Indy and Grand Park make money from HS teams needing FieldTurf fields during the season. BSU can pay for the lights from lease agreements.
