By the way, I happen to be staying in Atlanta tonight. Glory days, they’ll pass you by Glory days Every time I see the picture of you in the historical timeline section of the Atlanta airport I give you a chirp chirp.

Speaking of two years, that's the window. 24-25 and 25-26. If we can't recruit and coach up a championship after four years it's time to go shopping again. That's a longer time than is necessary to see of Lewis has the knack for building a contending roster in the current environment, but a shorter time than BSU will give him.

My opinion is based on the belief that we can only afford to pay out the final year of an underperforming coach’s contract. However, the U has also shown a willingness to add two year extensions if the admin thinks the culture trumps actual results. It’s worked great the past 24 years after all.

Mitchell and Lewis sat together courtside tonight. So I guess you could say they dont hate each other. Oddly enough Neu typically sits up near the bleachers at badketball games

Pretty true statement about affording the buyout

And remember that it's absolutely necessary to write our contracts in such a way as to insure our coaches against their own failure by tying our hands to make it impossible to get rid of them if they fail. The coaching candidates we pursue apparently demand this and will not sign a contract otherwise, as they seem to think their chances of failure are significant and they want to make sure we are stuck with them. Of course there is nothing troubling about this because it is the conventional wisdom and thus absolutely impossible to deviate from.
Insuring failure assures failure-prone coaches and tends to ensure failure. As we have seen.

That it is a cost if the coach is not what we want is reality. But then that buyout is not a total negative. A coach can be a success...
That we hire the wrong coach has consequences.
