“Mr T” signed a professional contract last summer and then decided to stay at BSU so he was suspended the 1st 9 matches by the NCAA. He is now eligible for the remainder of the season. He played incredibly well in his first match against USC yesterday. Ridiculous, but he could transfer to any school for a $100k NIL deal and play immediately.

Yeah, I would love to hear the reasoning behind that decision because I am clearly too stupid to understand the NCAA thought process.

My question is: Do we have a setter competition?
I see Machado played against USC, but Satterfield played against Stanford.
I'm no volleyball expert but I've always been led to believe setters are kinda like quarterbacks, or to paraphrase John Madden: If you have two setters, you actually have none.

Really disappointing showing by the Cardinals. Hopefully they bounce back. Cruz has shown he can coach at the highest level, let's see if his recruiting is up to muster. Stanford is really good and lost to Ohio State 15-13 in the 5th after the Buckeyes upset defending national champion and #1 UCLA 3-2 on Thursday. With BSU playing with their entire line-up for the first time this season, the Cardinals really held their own against USC and Stanford. It’s a long season and BSU will improve a ton the next 3 months playing a brutal schedule. #2 Hawaii in Worthen Sunday at 7:00!

You have to remember Machado is a freshman and with BSU trailing Stanford 14-in set 1, Cruz made a quarterback change and the entire match changed and Satterfield played the rest of the match. I still believe Machado will be the starting setter against Hawaii unless Satterfield outplays Machado in practice this week. They are both very talented setters.

The conference will be tough this year.
