Lembo is getting lots of mention for interviewing at Buffalo. It also appears he was interviewed there in 20/21 when they hired the coach who just left. Lembo was also mentioned last year for the Charlotte job. He no doubt wants to again be a D1 head coach.

The UB Fan Forum. But I am seeing him mentioned there now. They don't seem pleased with the idea. Pete is a hell of a coach. Not sure about a HC. I wonder how much he has improved/learned since he left here.

I wonder how much he has improved/learned since he left here. I love Pete. I really do. But he got really cynical about the MAC and recruiting to BSU the last couple of years. Given he's spent some time at higher level programs, I could see that cynicism quickly returning. And if he isn't able to hire high level coordinators I fear he won't be successful.

They’ll be doing the Lembo rock at Buffalo, it’s official! Personally, I liked him. Got to introduce him at an event once. He, like several, were extremely disappointed at the support given Ball State football by the administration.

It'll be interesting to see how he builds his staff. In my opinion, Bateman and Shrosky were the two guys that were really vital to Pete's success here and both are in positions that wouldn't make much sense for them to leave to go to Buffalo.

He's better connected than needing just BSU people from his past.

That was his downfall, good administrator, but not really either a great X&O coach or player motivator. He obviously has had some good experience since. Also. UB has better support and budget than BSU ever did

Honestly, I will probably not be renewing my season tickets for Ball State football. Tired of seeing the Cardinals lose, and lose again. Don’t see any real commitment to the football program. The recruiting keeps going down, and why not - just look at the results these past ten+ years. I’m almost, no, I am embarrassed to wear my Cardinal gear during football and basketball season. No commitment to either sports. I’ll probably start spending more time watching ND football and Purdue basketball. Nice to see a team win some games. I will say, I am becoming a fan of Ball State women’s basketball - they are tough and know how to win!

Sorry, I wasn't really intending to say that he NEEDED to have THEM, but more saying that HE wasn't the individual that fueled the early success with us, but that it was those two. He's really, maybe even more so than many other coaches, has to have some really specific needs to be successful.
