He's better connected than needing just BSU people from his past. Sorry, I wasn't really intending to say that he NEEDED to have THEM, but more saying that HE wasn't the individual that fueled the early success with us, but that it was those two. He's really, maybe even more so than many other coaches, has to have some really specific needs to be successful. I'd rank Skrosky far ahead of Bateman

Lembo rode the players that Parish recruited (remember his QB?), did not recruit well, said many things that sounded good and delivered on very few. He discouraged his staff from going after better athletes and ended up coaching a mediocre football squad of his own making. He then ran out of Muncie over the Christmas holidays and left our school and I suspect his assistants with nothing. This was the coach who said he would leave the cupboard full if and when he left...he did not. Thanks for nothing Lembo.

Honestly, I will probably not be renewing my season tickets for Ball State football. Tired of seeing the Cardinals lose, and lose again. Don’t see any real commitment to the football program. The recruiting keeps going down, and why not - just look at the results these past ten+ years. I’m almost, no, I am embarrassed to wear my Cardinal gear during football and basketball season. No commitment to either sports. I’ll probably start spending more time watching ND football and Purdue basketball. Nice to see a team win some games. I will say, I am becoming a fan of Ball State women’s basketball - they are tough and know how to win! Not good to lose our faithful followers. Understand. I still wear my BSU stuff here in AZ. Get lots of comments. I if were still there, I would probably still have tickets and suffer through the losses, etc. I don't lose any sleep anymore when the lose in F'Ball or B'Ball like i use to. Not that important anymore but still follow. Agree with you on women's B'ball. Great stuff. Also a big volleyball fan, both men and women.

He thought you had to move around to go up the ladder and, by extension, be successful. He's a strange cat.

Just go down the list of so called minor sports and you will find a competitive edge second to none. Those team members are inspired and taught by a very skilled coaching staff. that produce killer instincts. Women volleyball, Men volleyball, softball and baseball, tennis, gymnastics, swimming and diving, womens basketball etc. Lewis is a good coach. The team hasn't quit. The last 3 or 4 games they have played well most of these games but run out of gas at the end because of lack of depth. Football has some great facilities and again for the most part the effort was there. We have really beaten up on Neu for a lack of imagination and being locked in the past and also a lack of support from the Board of Trustees and the administration in general. How has the administration not completely supported FB and BB. Is it money? What specific commitments to FB and BB need to be made that are not already being done?

What specific commitments to FB and BB need to be made that are not already being done? We do not have the resources to afford to be a top MAC FB program.
In BB we may have enough resources to be in the top 1/2, maybe top 4 or 5, from which the champions almost always come. But we are short in NIL and even if we could get away with a bit of penny pinching should spend more on staffing if we want to be top 2 or 3 where the champions more often come. Those currently at the top have more in both areas.

I did wear my Cardinal gear to meeting I had to attend prior to the basketball game. Good game, good effort. The team needs carry this through the remaining games.
