If that is accurate I sure don't think he's worth it. While I like him I'd believe it more that Lewis asked him to transfer. He's too big a head case.

Ill give you 200,000 reasons Anderson is not at Ball State anymore Insanity. That place evidently has cash that we do not. Our guys don't appear to be leaving because of Lewis/the culture--they are getting paid to leave by other programs. And we (the university and whomever needs to) are not stepping up to counter it. How we gonna compete with a kid like Anderson getting that kind of jack? From a meh program? Now we really gotta wonder what happened with Basheer.

They could buy someone a lot better than Anderson for 200K.

Listen Im not saying anymore but the 200k is not a number I pulled from thin air. Its not an educated guess either. You can believe it or not but thats what we are up against

That doesn't pass the sniff test at all simply because, as ujim said, they could do a whole lot better for that money.

I’m assuming for $200k he is also the pastor and youth minister. If it is just for basketball, you might as well fold the tents and focus on men’s lacrosse.

We're not stepping up for pretty good reason it sounds like. Incarnate World has some alums in sports industry. I'm surprised 200K wouldn't buy a better player, not that they couldn't get that kind of money. When it looked like Jihad was staying, I assumed we had put a good number on him. Maybe had to let Anderson go to do it.

Nice kid, but not a winner. Just lacks the toughness to make winning plays late in games consistently.
Watching ISU, we have been (and currently still do) lacking smart guards who are quick, play good D, and shoot lights out. Lewis has completely failed in recruiting, especially guards.

Watching ISU, we have been (and currently still do) smart goods who are quick, play good D, and shoot lights out. Lewis has completely failed in recruiting, especially guards. Can't call Anderson, Bailey, Middleton, and Watts a "complete failure.". Not to mention an already signed JUCO recruit. I want to add shooting, a good PG and a wing shooter to make up for loss of Anderson and Middleton. Clutch play improvement in close games is a team goal, sure, To me Anderson's weakness was PG play, but we had good games late which showed improvement in that. That a lot of minutes without Jihad. Lewis has to get his new guards on that wavelength. The portal really sucks at creating an annual issue of transition and roster turnover. I'm not happy about Jihad, but we'll have more returning this year, looks like we'll lose less and have added Sparks back. With portal additions to come.

Middleton is gone because he refused to play D. Bailey refuses to play D and disappears for long stretches on O. Watts didn't even play. Anderson wasn't very quick, an inconsistent shooter, a so-so defender, and choked repeatedly late in games. His guard recruiting has been very poor.

Watching ISU, we have been (and currently still do) lacking smart guards who are quick, play good D, and shoot lights out. Lewis has completely failed in recruiting, especially guards. This year, Lewis got pretty much what the net of his first two years of recruiting deserved, which is to say 9th place and exclusion from the MAC tourney. Whether you want to say he has "completely failed" or not, he certainly has failed enough to be a failure. So, it's sort of academic whether this is "complete" or not. So far this year, he has an element of a good recruiting year in place (Sparks), but it's only a start thus far. But if he can't come up with some above-average MAC backcourt players, I can't see that we will be a contending team.
