“The Road to the Beach” continues tonight in Worthen Arena with 2 fantastic semifinal matches slated for Worthen Arena. At 4:00 Ohio State will slug it out with Loyola. This match is anybody’s guess with Loyola winning both regular season matches 3-2. Some say it’s hard to beat a great time 3 times in one season. We will find out this afternoon! The 2nd match will be a great one as well with a very hot Lindenwood team taking on our Ball State Cardinals. The Lions have recently defeated both Ohio State and Loyola. Ball State has played the past 3 weeks without starter Patrick Rodgers and Vanis Buckholz. The Cardinals will likely start 3 freshman tonight. Expected two blockbuster marathon matches that are considered toss-ups. The Worthen Arena crowd needs to be at their best tonight supporting the Cardinal and white!

I’m not VB “stat astute” but did Rogers not play the last two sets?

Another nice season for the Cards.
I've been hesitant to anoint Cruz as the second coming of Don Shondell, but I think he's shown a lot this year given what he's had to deal with (reshaping the roster and dealing with long absences from key contributors during different parts of the season). I feel like he's certainly established himself as one of the university's better coaches and one who will consistently put championship level teams on the court.
Be interesting to see who stays and who goes after this season, but if the majority of this young team can stay together the future would seem to be pretty bright.

They really needed another strong outside hitter. Rogers was it. So without him we were not that strong. Hopefully Mr T stays. He tried to go pro last year though.
