BSU took the game 1 on Thursday night, 11-9. Merritt Beeker pitched another gem (6-1/3 innings, 11 Ks & 0 BBs), but the mid-inning relievers had another poor showing. 3 mid-relievers pitched 1-1/3 innings and gave up 6 earned runs on 6 Hs, 2 BBs, 1HBP & 51 pitches. Really inefficient. I'm guessing Keegan Johnson gets the game 2 start today. He's been the game 2 guy for a awhile. Gametime 3 pm today and will be streamed. |

Pretty much have to hope for 6 good innings from our starters and 15 runs out of our bats. Every game.

Cards killed Kent today 11-1. Again we are in 2nd place & will finish ahead of Kent & Miami. WMU & Toledo are both still alive in race for 2nd.

Toledo lost to BG, so they are out of the hunt for the 2 seed now. If the Cards win tomorrow, they lock up the 2-seed. If they lose and WMU loses, then they still get the 2-seed.

Heck of a turnaround after the first 3 disastrous series, though. We didn't lose a series after those first 3.

Guessing Blain ran out of gas. Finally got good enough pitching on day 3 and couldn’t generate any offense.

You can never count on CMU for anything. That's for sure. And Kent threw their closer on the mound in the 9th with a 7-1 lead just to make sure we didn't get that bye. |
