Breathtaking 4th quarter. Serbia played very well.
Locked in D the key, took away Serbs outside shots, harassed Jokic. Curry, LeBron vintage, trademark play. Embid impressive. Durant hit big shots
Embid and Curry hadn't had big games, good time to get it going.
USA depth had to be a factor, Serbia just wasn't as physical late. Tired legs was part of it, they hit no 3's 4th quarter, Jokic not as much a monster inside.

Yes, we were not locked in early and had to have a heck of a 4th quarter to avoid a massive upset.

Serbian coach might have a point in that Jokic only shot 4 free throws in over 30 min. of playing time. Great come back led by James alon with two or three others is a GOAT.

Serbian coach might have a point in that Jokic only shot 4 free throws in over 30 min. of playing time. Great come back led by James alon with two or three others is a GOAT. Hard not to foul him when he keeps bumping into his defender in the post, he's huge. But, I don't think he had much complaint. The game was called like Euro ball where you get away with a lot of hands. You'd have to look at both sides. Serbia was hacking away effectively and aggressively on D half court, especially first half.
4th quarter, the US kept Jokic under control mostly by stopping him getting the ball easily, and staying with their shooters better. That had to do more with guarding the perimeter players and pressuring them and being active in passing lanes, not attacking Jokic.
Serbia didn't really go at the inside with Jokic as much as I expected most of the game.
Jokic is a beast when he gets the ball against smaller guys or has a lot of time and room when he gets it. It looked like the US was trying to keep him from getting low, but in the first 3 quarters he was screening high and getting those guards open and they were playing awfully well off the high post stuff.
4th quarter the D picked up and Embid who was in there is a pretty big guy, and was pretty good with his length and ability to hold position. Serbia had to take clock to get a switch where he wasn't able to fight J for position. Then, keeping up the ball pressure meant they didn't have as easy time getting it to him. And of course they cooled off tot, didn't get as much from shooting from outside.

BS. James and company got by with murder in the 4Q. It was embarrassing to watch. James took 5 steps at one point with no travel call. They did not deserve to win.

Agree Euro ball lets them play. Lebron is a big man by anyone's standards but next to Jokic he looked small

It was maybe 2 1/2 steps, only a little more than normal in Euro ball... The refs throughout the game rewarded the aggressor, I'm not sure it was imbalanced over the whole game.

After that game, I think we can confidently put to rest the "this team is better than the Dream Team" crap that was floating around the interwebs

After that game, I think we can confidently put to rest the "this team is better than the Dream Team" crap that was floating around the interwebs As good is more the question. The competition is MUCH better. That team faced a number of NBA talents, similar to Bogdonovic, nobody like Jokic. Hard to compare. The rest of the world could now put together a team as good. Several teams can now play close games with their best play. It's one and done, with the 3pfg in play, against teams who more regularly play together under FIBA rules. Playing France, in Paris, is a dangerous game.

Steph Curry closed it out.
It could have been some combination of others if he didn't, might have had better defense without him.
But. With go to guys like LeBron, KD, Embid, Tatum, Edwards and with other stars, others could step up, but you could see everyone of the stars looking to get him the ball and if he gets it with any room at all or a defender not locked in on him, he will get a shot.
8 for 13 on 3's is a good game for him, but not exactly unusual, he does awfully close to that in almost any big game.

FIBA teams can't afford FIFA executives.
