Alex Richard would have been that extra gallon of gas we needed to maintain the edge we had in the 4th. Hope she is ok and will be back sooner than later. Bischoff was amazing. I counted that she made 13 3s. I believe South Dakota State is better than Columbia but glad it is on our own floor. Hopefully the long trip from Sout Dakota will slow them down. We ran out of gas because our big four played over 30 minutes.

Becki in particular moving the ball up court that many minutes for 3 days. Wow she was great. The nice thing is other than the MAC tournament they won't face playing games that close again.

We are at a different level than the rest of the Mac which was proven this tourney. I have watched Kent, Toledo and Buffalo they are good but right now we are better. The rest of the MAC has to be dreading to play us. Yes we could have a really bad shooting day like at NIU but this year we have some serious fire power on the bench at this point is still developing

South Dakota State just beat #21 Oregon. They play us tomorrow at Worthen and will be a real challenge for us. They are good enough to blow us out of our own gym. They have a center who is on the watch list for the best center in the nation and a talented supporting cast. They are ranked in the top 25 AP and I think coaches poll plus in the top 5 of mid-major poll. In other words they are the real deal. Game on ESPN+ at 1pm

Im going to say we get embarrassed tomorrow. I’m more concerned about MAC play anyway. It all rides on winning the MAC tournament. Don’t win that it’s wnit again. We need to build throughout the season to win that MAC tourney. need Becki to assert herself even more.

You may be right about getting blown out today. I think Columbia and SD are very close in ability but we have to slow down SD center. Becki has been double teamed every game that has slowed her down but still is able to run the offense. Agree about building momentum for the MAC. Buffalo is undefeated but they have played a weak schedule. Still Watson for them is a handful. It is hard for us to build depth during games because of the hard schedule. Some of the MAC teams are really weak and will give our bench more chances to play.

Obviously I want us to win today but I’ll be more interested to see how we compete. It’s not easy to shake off the Thanksgiving hangover and get back into it and the gym is pretty much empty. Will we put our best foot forward?

We will give it a 110% go because of 1. Maturity of the team and 2. who we are playing. I would be a little concerned if we were playing a weaker unheard of team. Notre Dame in their last game was beaten by an unranked team.

Why are 3rd quarters always so bad for us? Lost control of the game. Does Brady sub too much in the 3rd? Surprised by the lack of adjustments.

4th qtr not any better. First half was excellent. 2nd half a disaster.

Clawed back a bit the last 4 mins. Play better in the 3rd and we have a chance to win that one. Good competition.

Well it was one of the best games I have seen. Both gave 110% and if we play MAC teams wih that kind of intensity we will be more than ok. SD is a really good and deep team that hit an insane amount of 3s. We more or less neutralized their good center and Marie was outstanding. Bischoff was blanketed and still we were able to stick with them and came back from 14 down to lose by 8. We need more help off the bench. You could see that in the 3rd and 4th we were starting to run out of gas and SD remained consistent. Toledo got blown out by 20 by #10 Maryland. Next for us is Davidson at home 11AM then away at Ohio State. If we had played Zone we would have lost by over 20 the way SD was hitting the 3s.

Post game Brady wasn’t pleased we got the tables turned on us on the boards in the second half. We need Richard back. No clue about her status.
