I'm gonna assume that, A: Lewis is PISSED if we really gave up that many points (he knows this was just a scrimmage to go play against someone and get up and down the floor and have some fun, but, never let a good teaching moment go), and B: he also played all sorts of combinations to see who was ready to do what and now he has some answers and we'll go from there. He's spoken of wanting to play faster, but we can't play faster if we can't/won't play defense. So this scrimmage, which never happened, shhhhh.... was very instructive as to what we need to work on and who's gonna play and who's gonna have to earn some trust. Valpo basketball twitter page has highlights up of them never missing a shot and us never able to keep anyone in front of them. (was it ok for them to post highlights of a secret scrimmage?) It looks like we're horrible, but in reality we're just running up and down the floor to run up and down the floor. Can't take it too seriously. We had Sparks trying to guard 15 feet from the basket and....it wasn't good. He still doesn't move well. But, in real games I doubt we'll expose him like that.

On the bsu sports podcast Lewis says right now we can't defend anybody based on the scrimmages we've had. Said offense is not a problem but the defense part has a long way to go. Team still gelling together. Lots of good individual players but not a cohesive unit yet. Work in progress.
