The more I think about this, the more pissed off I get. Seasons of 7-4, 7-4, and 9-3 in the fucking PIONEER LEAGUE gets you an FBS gig? In the days of NIL, he's not even been in FBS. How is he going to navigate that minefield? We went super cheap. Just saying....the Rice Owls program, who this year, most years, & historically has been a lot better football program than us just hired a Pioneer League coach as its Head Coach also. Scott Abell coached at Davidson 7 years with his best season being 8-3. Of course he was a Longwood graduate so there is that going for him, but according to FootballScoop.com Abell was selected over the current Ohio U. head guy who may end up the MAC Coach of the Year unless Lembo wins it.

I don’t see us having much success next season unless we get some recruiting surprises. What we’ll want to see is improved fundamentals and discipline. That has to be the program foundation. Mike never got that done. He talked about “ we need to be better” constantly but never really got it corrected. Ureamovich already talking about being a tough, disciplined football team. Sounds like he intends to be run heavy. That’s fine if we have a strong line and good backs. Keep the d off the field.

I'm mixed on the hire, but leaning towards a positive - wait and see -mentality He did win at Butler ... which is HARD. They had 3 winning seasons straight, which they had not done since the Regan administration. He has turned around bad programs. His offenses at NIU destroyed us He has been at NC State and Temple But .... we shall see ...

Regardless of what you think you know about his NIL experience, that is going to be a group effort so I'm not sure I'd be holding that against him. Who he brings in to assist him is going to be critical. You nailed it.

All former coaches and staff were let go this morning— except for Knowles. I am surprised we didn’t keep Colin Johnson in some capacity. Maybe that was Johnson's choice. We don't know what he was offered and what he was to be asked to do.

Continued mediocrity by BSU. I will be the first to eat crow, but I don't see this moving the needle at all.

The way it looks he's going to have to re-build an offense as well as the defense. He will need to get a whole new offensive line. He does favor a run heavy offense but with QB's (his top two rushers at Butler were QB's) so I think we can pretty much say good-bye to Semonza, Koziol, Pickett and Pemberton. (We might also be saying hello again to Kelly.). The fact that he didn't keep any of the offensive staff tells me he felt he needed a whole re-set.

FBS Special Teams Coordinator 2012 Northern Illinois (1 season) FBS Assistant Head Coach 2016-21 Northern Illinois and Temple (6 seasons) FBS Offensive Coordinator 2016-21 Northern Illinois and Temple (6 seasons) There were two MAC Champs and NIU's Orange Bowl team in the years he was at NIU. So yes. Add his FCS head coaching experience to his FBS experience and you have a legitimate HC candidate. Regardless of what you think you know about his NIL experience, that is going to be a group effort so I'm not sure I'd be holding that against him. Who he brings in to assist him is going to be critical. He's going from non-schollie pioneer league to the wild west of bottom of the barrel FBS and NIL mayhem. Gonna be a very tough transition, especially with a staff that is coming from that same place (which it looks like it will be Knowles and the current Butler staff). Recruiting has always been the key to success, but it's especially the key now.

Add that he is going to have to recruit for a different offensive system and it's going to be a tough transition for sure...on the defensive side of the ball they are really going to have upgrade the defensive backfield in particular...Uremovich has been successful everywhere he has been but now it's his show to run...my feeling is that it is going to take time though and those first four games next year will not help that transition. Five-year deal, correct?

Will Butler players be in Ball State’s future? I see one of their two QBs who lead in passing and rushing has two years of eligibility remaining. Will he get a FBS scholarship now that his coach is there along with others? Or will Uremovich at least be smart enough to acknowledge that the pioneer league is not the MAC and players who only beat Valparaiso by 7 points don’t belong in FBS. Harsh but true. Coaches are hopefully different in that sense and Uremovich and his assistants he brings from Butler can succeed.

Deff not a hire that anybody was really wanting I think we can all agree on that.. Now its not the worst hire ever but its really NIU based so if you dont like what NIU does your not going to like this.. Let me just say this yall remember 2017 NIU game.. 63-17ish.. This guy did that to us and also beat us 2016 and 2018. Safe run the ball football behind a mean straight up defense with a little play action to keep ya honest.Knowles will stay I think everyone else will go.. Individual meetings tomorrow with the big names first.. Next few days maybe weeks are going to be wild and we might just have real life WTF moment thrown in there.. You will know if it happens cause its like really WTF..
Im giving this dude a fair shot.. Am I thrilled no am I devastated no
disclaimer.... keep this in the back of our minds for 5 years... We could have had faulkner 100% passed on him
