A severe right angle turn from president to Cooper Science.....that's how we roll 😎 Shit. We spent 58 pages talking about some kid going to a Texas school. This is peanuts. Man I had forgotten about Mr bane I need to check on him

So we're too stupid to see and hear for ourselves? I don't know. Are you? Have you ever met him? Just because you don't like his politics doesn't make him an ass. Wait a minute, that has always been a mainstay of the thinking in political discussion in this group.

The Cooper replacement is unnecessary. Cooper could be rehabbed to house the new College of Health. Rehab is not an easy, and pretty expensive, and you could not rehab it for that Health purpose until you build a new building(probably more expensive than the Health Science complex) for the existing departments which are not moving into Health Science College anyway. The priority to get a new College with the perceived advantages that come with grouping the various departments in it together put that building first in line and easiest to sell to the legislature where it is seen as more closely related to generating health care industry and jobs. They don't seem to get that education is not always vocational in nature, except at PU and IU. So, the new Health Science College will delay action. That boring old hard science like Chemistry and Physics and so on, even though essential, isn't as easy to market to the legislature. Blame them, along with BSU administration for setting the priority. The legislators seem to me quite reasonable on the idea of a new Science building and came to campus where a science faculty Chair toured Cooper with them and showed them with some embarrassment how old and how inadequate it was for growing and improving the job they do in science. President Gora actually didn't want them seeing just how bad it was...we are doing good education is sciences, and there were other priorities then. Now this new College has become the priority and displaced the Cooper Science replacement.

Couldn't we keep the structure and use it to support a new "college".....Research in Geothermal Excellence? Heck, it would be a short walk for a field trip.

I think they will keep the structure, or part of it, but even that would require some bucks.
New science building, truly state of the art, designed for very modest growth in what we do, would be the most expensive structure in BSU history well over 100 million.
We don't do it and our students from pre-med to industrial chemistry to very modest grad programs in science, will not be as good as they are now. Every competitor is going to be or already is better equipped now, will have newer facilities, and right now is spending more to improve them.

Another few months have passed.
Is there a new BSU president-elect in place yet or are we still using Bob, from Accountemps?

Another few months have passed. Is there a new BSU president-elect in place yet or are we still using Bob, from Accountemps? Bob is out sick, Terry is counting down the days, gotta be tired of this. Charlene keeps getting more titles, and doing more work, she's not available to do much more. Every job is "acting" almost. So, if this goes on long, Marilyn Buck may sooner or later be acting President.

Yep. Been saying Hall is not a good dude and have been hearing it on campus. Ego and power. Ferguson fought against it and Hall ran him out. I Figured stuff with start hitting the light of day sooner or later.

Had no idea MCCurdy was working at BSU. Maybe Hall should force Whitford to take MCCurdy as an assistant? I am thinking he could help us land a quality post player. 😉
