Nice job of filling major gaps, at least temporarily.

I agree relative to filling needs.
I think Whitford is the right guy for this job but just needs to also catch a few breaks.
Keeping my fingers crossed!

The Bradley transfer was the buzz of the Spring Game among the people I was chatting with. Excited to see him hit the court.

Wish we had him more than a season. An obvious need to be addressed in the next class. Progress being made though. The Smits kid would have been a nice catch.

Yeah, but let's not play this game with threads about Whitford's recruiting. Nate Wells. Naiel Smith. This is giving me PTSD.

“Naiel fit the need we were looking to fill in terms of being a pure point guard,” Ball State coach James Whitford said. “He can create shots for himself and for his teammates, and he is a good defender. He is a hard worker and an energy guy who will be a great addition for us on the floor and in the locker room.”
Wait who said this?? We hire someone back!?🤪lol!

Y'all are just messing with me now, right? I open this article and I'm like...
- I didn't know signing period started this early... - Wow a 7 footer? - Naiel is an odd first name. I seem to remember BSU having another player with that name. - Bradley? Didn't we have an uncoordinated, useless big guy from Bradley prio... wait.... - Whitford?!? - 2015... damn it! I just wasted 2 minutes reading that article...

Ah, the Whitford years. "Great addition" Naiel Smith started 18 games and averaged 2.7 ppg. Nate Wells with his "tremendous size" contributed 1.4 rpg in addition to his 1.6 ppg.
Seems incredible now, but there were those on this board who made excuses for Whitford the whole 9 years and continually suggested that we could not expect/deserve any better. Remember them? Where are they now, I wonder. I suppose they've crawled under a rock somewhere out of extreme shame over their lengthy, repetitive and blatant stupidity.

Just pathetic that we never got rid of him sooner.

I’ve said many times that the state of Indiana isn’t producing the same level of players that it used to, and Muncie Indiana isn’t a destination spot for talent - and we will see what recruits come in the next few years (and where they come from)
I just don’t think some of us realized just HOW BAD Whitford was at actually coaching. Lewis has come in and done more in one year - with Whitfords players - than Whitford did in his nine seasons.
