BSU Daily NewsUnderstandable to protest, and it is our right to not stand for the national anthem, but IMO pick your time and place a bit better.

The protesters may do what ever they want but if they wanted more people to join them they might want to find another way of protesting. The national anthem has a special meaning to many people including remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice for this country and the ideals it was founded upon. By not standing during the playing of they anthem many believe that you are not honoring the war dead and sacrifices many have made. This, in the minds of many, is unforgivable. There are millions that share their views that the country has not been perfect but they will not join This Type of protest. Find another form of protest and you might be more effective.

Did that start during ww2? That would make sense. I've always wondered how it came about. Save

Why do they play the national anthem before sporting events? I have always thought it was sort of odd. Never understood it.
