Hazell gone after 9-33 record at Purdue.
Success at Kent didn't translate to B1G

Darrell gets $5M to go away. No tears here.

That guy rode Doug Martin's players all the way to the paycheck. 1 good MAC season doesn't always make a good coach. They were bad. Bad.

P.S. Having Dri Archer always helps too.

No way in the world should Purdue have hired him. Kent wasn't even that good the year they were good. Maybe Purdue hired him for the wrong reasons....

Shocker. Never saw that coming..... Bad hire from the start. It's right up there with Kansas hiring Turner Gill after the MAC refs gifted him a MAC championship.

Lester Miles? In black/gold? Fleck?

Lester Miles? In black/gold? Fleck? Miles won't aim that low. Better shot at Fleck. If he's interested.

I wouldn't be surprised if Fleck gets a better offer or says no thanks. I mean, the paycheck is hard to turn down. But another year and his recruiting will get him a better opportunity (if Purdue is his best offer this year).

Purdue won't be real attractive I don't think. Mitch doesn't believe in spending a whole lot on athletics. They didn't get the candidates they really wanted last time either.

I think Miles is intriguing. The guy is what, 62? Will he get another starting job? And I think his ground and pound is a little antiquated in today's college football. Maybe he spends 3-4 years getting them to respectability while mentoring someone else who can step in later.

I also question whether Miles is such a super hire anyway. He's had LA and TX to recruit from. He can't beat Alabama. When was the last good quarterback he's had?
