The Cards open the season on the weekend of Februaty 17th, in Clearwater, FL. They will play round robin against Maryland, Alabama State & Louisville. Louisville & Alabama State were in the NCAA Tourney last year. Maryland is always tough.
The next week, they will be at Coastal Carolina (National Champs), playing round robin against Coastal Carolina, George Mason & West Virginia.
Then, over Spring Break, they are in Port Charlotte, FL for games against Villanova, Northeastern, Chicago State, Georgetown and Boston College.
Before conference starts, the Cards head to Corvallis, OR for a three game series with Oregon State. We come home and play three against Dayton, then a single game against Purdue.
Coach Maloney has put together a good pre-conference schedule.
Also, IU has been playing Notre Dame at Victory Field in Indianapolis over the past two years. In 2015, the game drew 8,700 fans. In 2016, the game drew 6,600 in the rain. Notre Dame did not schedule a rematch, so Ball State is replacing them. Mark your calendars for Tuesday, April 25th, 2017 @ 7:00 pm in Victory Field.
It would be great if Ball State alums could outdraw Notre Dame to a baseball game in Indianapolis.

An odd addition to this years schedule is a three game non-conference series in May. Western Carolina is visiting Muncie for three games on the weekend of May 12th.

Really challenging the guys early. I like it. The record may not be great coming into Conf. play but they'll have played some great teams in preparation. Hopefully it pay off with a strong MAC season and tourney.

I'm definitely pumped about the game @ Victory Field since I work next to the Capitol building. Looks like a challenging nonconference, but should be good prep for the MAC.

I'll be at the Coastal Carolina three game series. Late February weather will be iffy. Bring your hoodie and gloves.

Ball State will be challenged hard before they get back to campus for the home opener against Dayton on St. Patrick's Day.
