After two games of "coulda, shoulda, woulda" we face our sworn enemy NIU this Saturday. After playing Ohio State and Boston College, in which NIU almost shocked the world (Which they seem to do often), the huskies lost to the surprise team in the MAC, Central Michigan.
NIU has been dominant against Ball State in recent years, but with newfound uncertainty at NIU, will the fighting Cardinals be able to pluck the Huskies eyes out come Saturday?
The Huskies come in with dual threat QB Drew Hare who gave us fits just a year ago. Their other offensive weapons are powerful and biting and their defense is intimidating.
The cards on the other hand are coming off a two game losing streak to one ranked opponent and a newly ranked opponent. Both games have been games in which the Cardinals had every opportunity to win (or make it close against Toledo), but somehow found a way to lose.
Will the Huskies be seeking vengeance and lay it on the fiercest robin sized birds? Or will the Cardinals of the great university of Ball State muster together a winning game plan and put down the Huskies (punny)?

We will have to play a near perfect game to come home with a win. We won't. NIU will be primed to get back on track. My guess NIU 31 Ball State 13.

I say we surprise some people, stay in it, even lead late until a last minute score dooms us.

The reality is we just aren't good enough. We have good stretches, but not close to 60 minutes.

NIU boards a reading they are scared of this game. Seems like they think they have a dumpster fire over there. Hope that's the case. Just don't see it though.

I wish our version of a dumpster fire was like theirs. That'd be an 8-4 season rather than 4-8.
