I’m not sure anyone was talking about replacing Riley. What would be really good is if Neu could find more and better ways to maximize Riley’s skills while we have him. Dink and dunk and hopeless runs against a stacked line of scrimmage and being entirely too predictable isn’t working. Just not sure you can do this unless we improve blocking and receiving which would after all improve results doing what we are already trying.

We aren’t creative from what I can see. We weren’t even when at full strength. We have some serious holes, yes. But the really good coaches find ways around that. And if neal is as good as he’s supposed to be he finds ways to overcome, right? It’s certainly on the staff to figure how to plug holes and overcome deficiencies and extract more out of what you have.
So we’ll see on Saturday vs Kent.

This dialog is great. I see a boatload of ideas that might be implemented. I believe with the majority of contributors that we must get our younger players on the field in situations that count and get them the experience they need to perform in game situations. I really feel the coaching staff can turn this team into a winner.

The question in that overcoming thing has always been what our best case with the serious holes is. It was probably 4 or 5 wins, with some chance to sneak up and catch somebody on their bad day for a miracle 6 wins. After 4 games done?
Always optimistic to expect more than 4 probably.
Best case for me is a team that keeps improving and is playing well and has a good chance to beat Miami and close on a good note. .

That’s really all we can ask for this year given the short comings at certain positions and youth at others. I just want to see continued improvement even though it won’t necessarily translate to wins. Not as far behind most of the Mac as we are. Reduce the mistakes, make the best use of what we have.

We are A Kent State Loss away from losing also ran status. Lose it and we are at the bottom not near the bottom. We will be swimming in the shit with CMU. EU has passed us Akron has passed us.. Wait for it Buffalo is really good, Toledo is always good, WMU is still decent, NIU we can not beat... Ohio better than us etc etc "Swimming in the shit with CMU." I wouldn't underestimate CMU. They are not that bad. I've watched Kent State play a couple times this season and they are definitely better than WKU. I'm not sure we can go by what we saw last Saturday. The officials were too big a part of the game. In the pregame my son saw who the officials were and said that we'd see a game just like we did. Apparently that group is notorious. He was not wrong. Both teams had to deal with it but it destroyed the flow of the game. That being said, based on the first four weeks of the season I think it is pretty clear we are alone at the bottom of the conference. I'm still of the opinion that we have the players to be better than that.

We're in synch.
Anytime you let one slip away I'm very disappointed. But less so with a young team with so many weaknesses.
When you are in that situation, improving what you can do, using what you can for teaching. Developing and recruiting players has to be the focus, and after a frustrating loss, you just have to move on and hope like hell the coaches can keep the team from getting as down as a fan bulletin board.

Ok. But the great hope of a bright future 3 years in, youth or not, is where? What do we have to go on? Of course the fan bulletin board is upset. It’s same ol same ol on the field, with more excuses. Remember, the AD said we were gonna see it this year. The last two games are it? Looks the same.

If you think BSU is going to cut Neu loose with 2 years left on his contract, you're crazy. The only way he gets let go is if he does something illegal/unethical/majorly controversial.
Even if he had just 1 year left, it's BSUish to stick with a coach that's not winning.

Barring the "no progress at all" scenario this year, PLUS signs of real incompetence, not just disappointment, and not just losses but losing touch with the team and seeing collapse looming, you are probably right this year.
And. Unless big money is talking about covering the budget for a buyout and really talking loud, it's next year where this is a good option, and even then...as you say.

Good lord I cant say it any clearer than I have 10 times.. No one is talking about replacing Riley. All I have said is if we are out of contention for a bowl ad have nothing to play for Why not take advantage of a new rule and let the young kids(future) gain much needed experience.

Who are you talking to? I think everyone understands your point. That hasn’t been discussed for a while.
