Who was talking about NFL for Neal? He certainly isn’t NFL talent, but I don’t get the hatred for Neal. I get the criticisms about happy feet and inaccuracy, but some of this stuff I’ve read on here sounds personal. I don’t know him personally, but he apparently rubs some people the wrong way. We could certainly do much worse at QB, and last year is proof of that. People expected him to be the next Davis or Wenning. Even though he has been a pretty decent QB for us, I think some expected greatness.

Some people, and I have been one of them, have at times pointed fingers directly at Neal. But what I don't get is that some folks seem to overlook or excuse everything he does. I think he gets a pass from some because we've been so bad in so many areas, and that's understandable to an extent. And damn, he does look the role. 6-6, good lookin' kid, nice kid by all accounts, athletic, looks like he throws a nice ball ...
But let's face it: He's in his fourth year in the program, he's never won more than 4 games and, to me, it's hard to see growth and improvement.
I'm not sure what might have happened outside of games that might have let to the benching of Walton and Miller. Maybe there was something beyond game play. But, if it's just game results that led to the benching, then I'd say maybe it's time to look at someone else at QB, too, because the QB's game results ain't so hot either.
Plitt? Paddock (who we can play now without losing his RS, right?)? Hughes? Can't be worse than starting Uzodinma and Phillips at corner.

I’m on board with giving the other QBs a shot if the games get out of hand like yesterday or if we lose the next couple of games, but I find it hard to believe that there is anyone on this team that would give them a better shot at winning games.

I said this same thing a couple weeks ago and I could not agree more. Lets see what we have if its not better nothing hurt. Yesterday was just terrible and Neu is very real danger of losing this team

Can anyone remember all the injuries we had last year?
I know Neal and Gilbert and Lacanaria, but we had a slew of them. Does anyone have a full list?

You mean like we gave Plitt a shot yesterday? No. It needs to be meaningful time with the full playbook with other first-stringers on both sides of the ball.

If we are out of bowl contention I think we will see a lot more young players get playing time. I don’t see any harm in giving them experience without the risk of losing the redshirt.

You think we're in bowl contention? Ok, fine. Enjoy that delusion for a while.

You think we're in bowl contention? Ok, fine. Enjoy that delusion for a while. Until we lose 7 games, yes. Slim chance, I know. I just think you should put your best team on the field until the postseason is out of the question. I don’t think I’m too crazy with this line of thinking.

You may or may not be crazy. I'll admit that my bowl thinking is skewed by my firmly held opinion that at least two-thirds of all bowl games are meaningless crap.
And while I'll root for the Cards should they participate in such a bowl, it will not change my opinion that the game itself is meaningless crap.

You guys need to focus on the details. This team is undisciplined, lazy, generally avoids contact, stinks on special teams, and gets into it with the officials and opponents in ongoing fashion. This staff is an epic trainwreck, and I have no patience for them.
