record still does not matter much to me I expected this to be a bad season. I do not like the regression that seems to be going on. I do not like the general feel I get whenbvb watching how the team interacts. I do not like the rhetoric frombthe staff.. Something feels off and it feels like then end of times with lembo Man you just nailed it. Yesterday definitely looked/felt like the yuck of the end of the Lembo era. I don’t understand how broken the offense is. We should be getting way more out of it. I know the oline isn’t good, but yesterday was way off like he was vs niu. On a few throws he was throwing to no one. I still think we’ve not tried hard enough to really get Gilbert going. He hasn’t gotten enough consistent carries. We don’t stick with any particular thing. (Other than the worthless horizontal throws) It just seems like a grab bag.

Something feels off and it feels like then end of times with lembo And Lynch, and Parish, and Buckley, and Taylor. Even with the real nice guys things always get edgy when they figure out the end is near. Do you realize we only have thirteen Offensive Linemen on our roster? Two of them are injured so we have eleven total. four of them don't even rate the depth chart. I know we lost one who came for summer school and then left, but in three recruiting seasons Mike has brought only nine offensive linemen to Ball State who remain on the roster. BALL STATE O-LINE STARTERS LT - 64 RSJR 6'3" 280 LG - 71 RSJR 6'4" 294 C - 55 RSSO 6'1" 294 RG - 62 RSSO 6'5" 304 RT - 75 RSJR 6'4" 295 BACKUP 72 RSSO 6'3" 302 63 RSJR 6'3" 285 68 RSSO 6'0" 297 63 RSJR 6'3" 285 72 RSSO 6'3" 302 Please note that the backups at RT/LT AND RG/LG are the same person OTHER O-LINE ON THE ROSTER 79 - FR 6'3" 286 76 - FR 6'3" 301 57 - RSFR 6'4" 299 53 - FR 6'4" 321 INJURED 70* - RSSR 6'4" 300 77* - RSSO 6'4" 294 Contrast that to Eastern Michigan. Chris Creighton has brought 19 offensive linemen to EMU in his 5 recruiting seasons. Look at the size and experience of that line compared to ours. EASTERN MICHIGAN O-LINE STARTERS LT - 62 RSFR 6'5" 336 LG - 67 RSSR 6'4" 301 C - 78 RSSR 6'5" 310 RG - 56 RSSR 6'3" 308 RT - 74 JR 6'8" 318 BACKUP LT - 54 RSSR 6'4" 294 LG - 69 RSSO 6'5" 300 C - 60 RSSO 6'5" 298 RG - 75 RSFR 6'3" 288 RT - 50 SR 6'5" 312 OTHER O-LINE ON THE ROSTER 48 - FR 6'6" 282 57 - SO 6'3" 311 64 - JR 6'2" 266 65 - FR 6'5" 305 68 - FR 6'4" 307 69 - FR 6'5" 299 70 - FR 6'3" 302 71 - FR 6'4" 286 76 - SO 6'5" 283 Mike hasn't had time to grow any RSSR, SR, or RSJR players yet. That falls on Lembo's last two crappy recruiting years. Nine guys in three years? When it is the weakness of your team? Really? It just doesn't appear the offensive line is a priority. That or he can't get them to come here. This is why our running game (the strength of our football team) is in the toilet. rame> <iframe width="23.860000000000127" height="2.9200000000000017" style="position: absolute; width: 23.86px; height: 2.92px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 1133px; top: 88px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_79632318" scrolling="no">

Something feels off and it feels like then end of times with lembo I'm not as tuned in to the emotional level of the team, but I know success is highly dependent on high energy. I am concerned if you see the staff is a negative downer. They are the key to energizing and organizing the various groupings on Offense and Defense.
The HC can sometimes be the energizer, I think Brady played that role, but good FB teams seem to have the potential for a single unit or personnel group to have some personality and as a result be up and play really well in a game, to large extent independent of another groupings possibley. pick it up when another grouping is down. That can be infectious and energize others.
If you are seeing coaches squabbling, or negative, or without energy and dead, the players, especially young players are going to be killed by that.

Man it all starts up front and as Jim has laid out, we have not taken care of business building the front.
We do, however, have plenty of WRs who don’t play....

The good news about that list is that we don't have any seniors. They should all be back next year.
Edit: except Joss. Not sure if he could come back.

Most of the roster comes back next year, minus any transfers, retirement due to injury and just plain don’t want to play any more guys.
It’s highly important that we keep the studs who’ve verbally committed so far. A couple are starting to get power 5 interest.
Next year is when Mike really needs to show his program works.

The problem is, this doesn't just magically work out one day. Neu and his staff have proven incapable of recruiting offensive linemen. You cannot win without OL.

I checked the other MAC rosters for lineman from Indiana high schools currently NIU has a 3 yr starting center, CMU a 3 yr starter at guard,Miami starting C & starting TE with 3 others on scholarship, & Kent starting guard. That's 8 players on scholarship & 5 starters.(the TE at Miami is 6'5" 265 sounds like a lineman)So we just have to recruit them.
