I'm at a loss as to why anyone thinks Paddock, who had exactly zero other FBS offers, is the answer. We stole him from - *checks notes* - Southern Illinois. And after seeing how this staff has developed Riley Neal in year 4 of his career, do you honestly think they sprinkled magic QB dust on Paddock that suddenly makes him the answer 8 games into his true freshman season? He'd get destroyed. He's 6-foot-nothing and nobody's saying he's the next Drew Brees. It's over, people. We'll be lucky to hold onto Schott so the next staff, whomever they may be, can turn him into something. If Schott bails (and who could blame him?), this program is going to be staring down a very long, dark tunnel...and the only light they see will be a freight train coming from the other direction. Ive said all along Paddock could be a flop.. I did however speak to many people who have seen him play, Sports writers, Recruiting "experts" etc. I use that loosely because the experts are hit and miss at best. Everyone said the kid could be really good. Your right he might be Ozzie Mann or worse.. Thats why I am curios and would like to see what he can do.. We know what PLitt brings and hughes has never been mentioned so I doubt we see him. No one should expect Paddock to come in and lead us to a win. You watch to see his arm strength, how is reads are, How fast he gets rid of the ball, Accuracy etc etc.. If he does some things well then we know he might have some tools to work with. I agree schott may never get here.

I think we should play Hollis Hughes. Doe he still have eligibility? Still think Hollis Hughes is the answer. He's retired and should have availability.
