There have been several posts about the ineffectiveness of the weight program in Muncie and my point is that it is not that hard to have a good one.

There have been several posts about the ineffectiveness of the weight program in Muncie and my point is that it is not that hard to have a good one. By taking attendance and telling them to go lift dammit? Not that simple. BSU football players work VERY hard in the weight room, and for what Ben Armer does, he's very good at it. The question becomes, is the program he espouses effective enough to get our players big enough and strong enough to compete, and does he have enough resources? My understanding is he essentially follows what Dave Feely did and people thought very highly of him. But maybe it's not a program designed to add bulk and strength and is more geared toward explosiveness. (Lembo preferred that) Brady Hoke had his players more bulky and strong. It's a matter of philosophy. Now basketball, that is an entirely different situation that starts with the head coach....

It’s not that hard no, but it’s a matter of getting the players to buy in and really push themselves. It sounds like it shouldn’t be an issue, but many times it is. I would bet only 20-25% of the players really get what they need from working out/diet/agility program(s).

I do not know about basketball but the football teams sessions are mandatory. Your ass had better be there or your life gets much harder. Im not sure where the problem occurs though because something is wrong. The basketball team on the other hand does not look like they have ever touched a weight except for Walton.. I was good friends with Petey Jackson and by the time he left Ball State that dude looked a lean incredible hulk
