The three by KJ to end regulation was unreal. Losing Teague to fouls, I thought would be the end of the game. The team did show fight to stay in the game, tie it, almost win it. There were some real bad no calls by the refs, is it just me or does the MAC not want to see a successful Ball Stater program? We seem to almost always be at the.opposite end of the foul calls. However, the turnover at the end of the game should never have happened. The steps by Kent should never have allowed the winning basket. Sad. The MAC didnt tell Tom Collins to extend Billy Taylor after a misleading 7-9 MAC West title in 2008-09, nor did the MAC tell Mark Sandy to give Whitford a 3 year extension after a 10-8 MAC campaign. History repeated itself. Nor did the MAC commit 20 turnovers and give up 14 offensive rebounds. We currently rank 329th in offensive rebounds given up per game and 268th in turnovers per game. The MAC didn't cause us to recruit bigs who can't rebound or guards who can't handle the point. Current RPI #147, we are now sub .500 vs DI opponents.

All true. 20 turnovers were not a result of a ref conspiracy yesterday.

We haven’t valued the basketball for the past month. Now 116 turnovers in the past 7 games. Persons had eight assists yesterday but seven turnovers to go with it. So many come off of trying to push the pace up the floor. We have a quandary in that our half court offense is just not very effective so we try to push and get a quick score in transition but it leads to bunches of empty possessions.

proctorp, I am glad you admitted that you had a few drinks before you wrote you hoped the AD would ask Whit to resign. Why would he resign? Why would he throw the better part of $1.5 million away? Where else would he get that kind of jack? We are stuck with him since the AD fell for the ''look at my twenty wins'' line and extended his contract.. He doesn't give a sh*t about Ball State except for what he can squeeze out of the treasury (along with many other coaches at many schools). Unless he loses his mind and pulls a Lembo, sneaking out of town three days before the biggest holiday of the year he is not going anywhere...And once again, I hope I am wrong and he resigns of his own accord.

It's quite an art and not one many people have skill in but there are ways to make an employee's life a living hell without actually breaking any laws. I'm not sure Whitford's personality would respond well to tactics like this. If Goetz is proficient in such tactics, he might leave of his own accord.

What they used to do was “assign” you to a position in athletics which was in essence a desk and no duties. No coach worth his salt can stomach that for long and eventually they take another job as an assistant somewhere. I pray we at least had the foresight to put a clause in his contract that states we owe him nothing if he takes another gig or at worst maybe one year. Probably wishful thinking. Sigh.

In the unlikely scenario Whitford left for an assistant gig elsewhere, I would guess BSU would be completely absolved of his contract.

I wish they would ''assign'' me to a desk job for three years at $450,000 per. I would sit silently and count my money. Hell Whit could sit there and do what he has done for years...NOT COACH.
