Sorry but when you put yourself in front of a live crowd you are going be heckled in one form or another, it's all part of the deal.

Not sure I want my football team doing it though. And if I need my coach to stand there like an idiot to protect them .....

The coach was just fending any off any possible escalation. Seriously what kind of fan confronts a group of college age kids about heckling. She should be grateful they don't get heckled at Worthen.

Always plenty of empty seats in good old Worthen, too. Of course we have the tarps so there is that.
Do our football players (or other athletes) even show up as a group to basketball games, if they aren't being honored at halftime for some reason? I'm always disappointed that more students don't show up for games, whatever the sport, but seems like is something that would be encouraged of other athletes, time/travel/studies permitting.

For football, student tailgating has been muzzled and curtailed by the U in the past several years so many just quit coming. In fairness, mots weren't coming into the stadium anyway because we've been awful. This season for hoops we were 11-4 coming home off our win against Toledo on the road and we laid an egg...again. Our 2-4 home mark in league is the perfect excuse for students to quit coming and as has been mentioned the last few games have been excruciatingly painful to watch, win or lose. When we've had some good, early January student crowds like this year we've rewarded them with a sh*t performance. As for our other athletes, that used to be common if not even mandatory. Today, nada.

I don’t disagree. Was it good old fashioned heckling or was it worse. And momma bear probably shouldn’t have gotten involved. I’m just saying you want your athletes upholding some standard of behavior. (Not saying they didn’t in this case). On the other hand, wanna shut em up? Effing beat them for once.

I would play Hazen over Mallers right now...shake things up a bit...what would happen? We might lose.

Agreed and the coach may have been there because he told them to knock-it-off.

Football team is normally at 1 game a year as a group.. Student section was awesome after Toledo. It only lasted a couple games. Just like us they are not going to come and watch us lose

As much as an embarrassment as our programs been for two decades now, at least we don't play in Millet Hall. Totally ill-designed piece of shit.

It had became the craziest party of the year and like already mentioned none of the students were coming to the game. Had the students treated it more like a football tailgate the crack down porbably would not have been as harsh. Ive been to many tailgates at many schools SEC/BIG 10/MAC etc. What was going on out there in the student lot was bordering on out of control

Had jury duty yesterday and today. Didn’t follow the board or emails as I watched the replay not knowing the score. Up down, Down up. What the heck were the three point shots from Teague and KJ? Was it because our shooters won’t shot unless they are wide open with the exception of Persons and figured what the heck, somebody needs to shot? Even FT! How we were able to claw our way back was a big surprise. Hazen has been playing well. Again, if this team could ever put it together they could be something to watch. Have to say coaching is the difference. He has recruited talent. Coaching. It’s like how the heck does ND LOSE GAMES WITHEIR TALENT - coaching, plus ND has a huge target on their back. Rambling. Dissapointed in another loss that should have been a win. A good year that has gone further south than anticipated.
With that said, I will be driving 2.5 Hours south to watch the Cards play Saturday.
Go Cards!

I saw some real shit in the lot the last few years before the crackdown. It was embarrassing and made it difficult for others to enjoy. The frats didn’t take the new rules kindly but they were part of the cause.
