Bring in a new coach on a six year deal and back load the last three years. You can probably make it work financially. There is no way Whitford can come back next season. A pipe dream bro. No way we can afford this right now. We will likely have to eat part of Neu’s contract if he craps the bed again in football and we are raising money for a new indoor practice facility. There is no cash to make it happen this year or next. Sandy is sitting in his La Z Boy sipping a sweet tea while we get to endure at least two more years of excuses and mediocrity. It’s depressing as hell but a cold reality. I know, however I don't believe there is a choice. You can't have dead coach walking for two seasons.

I would have to say this team's collapse in the fifty plus yrs I have followed them is the worst. It all comes back at the head coach's feet. He has everybody back & the subbing he uses is horrible. There are no excuses for what happened in the conference season a bad coach leads to a poor season. As a fan since my freshman year of 2001-02, the only comparable collapse was during the 2011-12 season. This collapse feels a little worse because this team's peak was higher pre-collapse. Both collapsed were the sports deities snacking us upside the head to let us know each coach needed to go. I was admittedly a Taylor apologist pre collapse.

I hope our resident apologists have taken note of the cue they have been given by Jimmy One Win. It's time to pivot from the "injuries" excuse to the "MAC is so dang strong" excuse. I guess it's kind of hard to maintain the "injuries" excuse when the team steps on its dick, losing 4 of 5 down the stretch, after the injured players come back. But, believe me, they would have parroted the "injuries" excuse until the end of time if a substitute hadn't been provided. You must have missed the post-game interview. The loss this evening was indeed due to injuries. If K.J. Walton had just not twisted his ankle in the first half. That messed-up Whitford's well thought out rotations which in turn caused the 12 point deficit at halftime. If not for that 12 point deficit at halftime, we would have won by 5 points. But you are right, Whitford certainly has pivoted to the MAC is such a strong conference rational for his failure. Week after week the guy proves he’s entirely incapable of adjusting to, well, anything. Our injuries, the opponent’s injuries, road games, home games, the incredibly super tough MAC opponents, rain, snow, etc. All factors in our multitude of losses. Hard to overcome all those surprises ya know. But, we should feel damn good that we’ve lost to so many great teams this year. It’s an honor, really, given the strength of the MAC.

Here’s another stat to further impress/depress. As we stand, at 6-11 in the league, our six wins include 2 against WMU (currently 8-22) one against NIU by a single point, one against Akron by a single point, and a pair of double digit wins, one vs. CMU and the season opener by 15 against Toledo which now seems like a decade ago. One of our wins vs. WMU was by 2 points. Let that all just seep into your bones. We could almost be a 3 win team in league.

Have no fear BSU has an excellent track record on the road in MAC plug-in games in this millennium. Oh wait a sec., I thought the 0 was in the loss column not vice versa.

This, you know, is all a direct result of BSU being cheap and not giving Whitford a bigger raise with his extension.

Buckley and Taylor also flopped from lame excuse to lame excuse at this stage However, It appears Whitford will outlast either of those two. Not because he is any better, but because....incredibly....our administration has become even stupider. Thanks Colonel Sandy. Enjoy your retirement.

I think we talk to Dave about contributing some money to assist the athletic department & consider it his early inheritance gift to BSU & if that fails promise Papa John we will not take away his diploma if he helps us out with the basketball program's current needs.

"We're a lot closer than the record indicates to putting together a string of wins here." James Whitford in his post game comments. Correct....and let him know we were also 3 points from having a string of 6 losses in a row. Calhoun must be at the new wing place hammering down a 1/2 lb. dog

Anyone who is a gamer, a competetitor, would have the balls to step down and admit when he is over there head.

I could have typed out what was going to happen last week. I did not even need to watch it. So I took my son my boxing then watched MTV fluff with the wife. Im going to go to Senior night cause Tayler and Trey deserve the recognition other than that Im done till next year.

I mean the situation just gets worse and worse. We did not make any changes in football largely because we could not eat that much money. We assumed we were not going to have to make a change after this basketball season. Now it could be argued that Whit really needs to be the first to go. If this happens then what happens when/if football is a disastor. We can not pay off Whit and then Neu as well. We can not keep Neu with out extending him if we do not extend we might as well kiss a whole years worth of recruiting down the drain. If this happens the next guy will be in a situation as bad or worse than Neu.. The cycle continues

If you write it all down on paper and look at it.. Do you keep a basketball coach who has had 6 years to turn around a program. Basketball is much easier to fix than football but here we are year 6 and he is having maybe his worst season but has his best collection of talent.
Football Neu is in year 4 but his teams so far have not really been competitive. Everyone who follows both sports will say the rebuild for Neu was a much harder ask. The outlook on the upcoming season is not great in most peoples minds but how do you keep Whit and then fire Neu
We have a confirmed dumpster fire and barring a couple miracles a new AD who looks to have her hands tied financially.
