Fau opens as 3 point favorite on the road. Would be about a 7 point favorite at home

FAU lost most of their playmakers on offense from last year. They are still looking for playmakers to emerge (likely to happen in this game). If somehow we could pressure their QB, I think we could force some turnovers and keep their offense from exploding on us. That is a big “if” though because when do we actually pressure QB’s? Our offensive play calling will need to be more creative and aggressive. I don’t think the dive runs up the middle and short passing game will be very effective in this game. FAU does not have a great defense, but they do have the athletes to cause us problems. Offensively they have a stud at TE who we are going to have a hard time covering. Part of me wishes Wilborn could go back to LB for this game to cover this guy. White for sure can’t cover him and I don’t know if any other inside or outside LB is fast enough to keep up.

Yep Harrison Bryant is a freak. Agree on wilborn. He’s the only kid big enough and athletic enough to cover that guy. Ohio St couldn’t even handle him. I would expect a heavy dose of throws to him, especially as weak as our middle has been so far. Don’t think Albright can cover him.

This guy is confident in us Lane Kiffin (OC/QB coach, Alabama 2014-2016) vs. Joey Lynch (OC/QB coach, Ball State 2014-present) 🤔🤔🤔🤔 ........He can have the points. Bet the house while he’s at it.

Prediction: 31 - 27 Ball State. Same score as our only other meeting with FAU.

Prediction: 31 - 27 Ball State. Same score as our only other meeting with FAU. We couldn't keep Fordham out of the endzone, how are we going to hold FAU to 27 ? They might have that at halftime. I'll be surprised if we keep anyone under three touchdowns all season. If we win there will be a hell of a lot more scoring than that. The only chance we have is hang 50+ on these guys.

After watching some of the UCF/FAU game my casual assessment would be that UCF is on the level of Michigan State, Iowa, Penn State, or Wisconsin; FAU looked to be similar to an upper level MAC program (i.e Western or Toledo). Be that as it may, FAU should be a better indicator of where the program is than Fordham. No disrespect to Fordham as they may be a very good FCS program in a year or two. And we all remember when UCF jumped up to D1 and joined the MAC! This where they are today 20 years later!
