Well, maybe, but now not sure.

If you were to make staff changes why in the world would you wait? I would think it would be better to cut the cord, let those fired look for new jobs and give the AD and Lembo time to hire new people and keep recruiting. It could be that Pete is trying to find replacements in advance before dropping the hammer and there are no, or, very few takers. They might be looking at new hires and for some odd reasoning they see no reason to hurry. Last, maybe no staff changes are coming. At this point it is anyone's guess.

I understand and agree changes need to be made, but rearranging the deck chairs is probably not what most have in mind, and going into the market isn't so easy as people think. There are many reasons to go a little slow. bsu0 makes some good points.
I raised this in another thread, but isn't there a real question whether we are willing to spend the money to significantly upgrade, and another question whether we can attract anybody to the job if the head coach is in jeopardy of losing his job.
Assistant coaches are never going to make all that much money, but they do want to improve their resume, and certainly don't want to leave one job and move family unless they expect to be able to keep the job for a few years and add something other than a job title and a losing record with a head coach who won't be moving up himself after time at BSU.
The overall success of a Program or potential for it in the future is usually the main reason a head coach can assemble a good staff. He will be successful and take them along as he moves up the food chain, or will attract funding and provide a good job for a long enough time for them to move on their own. In fact that has worked for several of Lembo's assistants.
We are paying a little price for past success on a slim budget when we lose good staff. Budget constraints meant we couldn't keep good coaches, and we were best placed to improve staff after our success made some of our assistants attractive in the market. When they left after success, and we extended the head coach and gave him a raise, we needed to make the move to spend more on good replacements then, and could have more easily attracted strong replacements.
Changes are easy then, not as easy now.

No but going outside to do so raises the problems I mentioned.

So, we should just plan on setting here and winning two, three or four games again next year, right ? That's something to look forward to for the next several months.

I doubt we see any coordinator changes. I was wondering if the DC would retire, but that would have happened by now I assume. Not going to waste my time worrying about it.

Pete hired these guys because he thought he was getting the Wake Forest job and didn't care what happened here after he left. Now we're stuck with them and a stubborn coach who will continue to slowly suck the life out of this program.
Never thought I'd feel more optimistic about BSU basketball than football. Thanks again, Pete! Maybe there will be some FCS jobs available to you this time next year.

Unfortunately you aren't the only person who feels that way.

Pete hired these guys because he thought he was getting the Wake Forest job and didn't care what happened here after he left. The cost of staff not new problem. Brady complained about that. It is huge problem at all mid major programs. Can't put the blame on a head coach about the money part of the story, that's economics.

Pete has hired poorly. Period. No excuses.

But, whatever anybody thinks about that, it isn't really easy to fix, and it is never that easy to hire a great staff on the cheap.

Pete has hired poorly. Period. No excuses. Can't argue about the results but I don't buy the argument that he didn't care because he was heading elsewhere. That's bogus in my opinion.
