Pretty sure all sports are kept going by student fees. Their revenue is obviously next to nothing, and their costs are something. Where else would the money come from?
That's as far as i'm going to go. This isnt the sort of thing the university brags about and I don't feel like doing the digging. I will speculate though. I might guess that for most sports, the total season revenue wouldn't cover the costs of a single road trip. I know that some sports are more donor supported than others, but I would be surprised if any are covered all the way.

The headline says it all. No intelligent individual invests in losing.
Win and display a winning mentality both on and off the playing fields/court and the money will come.

More like the winning comes when the price is low. The donor support helps at the margin, but coaching salary, staff, low cost facilities in many of our most successful sports are a fact. We are competitive in fund raising when not much can make the difference.

Off topic somewhat, but how good are our swimming and diving teams? I read we are moving to the MVC for that now.
