O’Garas SP article pretty much asks WTF like we are.
Gunn fouled out in 7 minutes. Moses wasn’t fed nearly enough after dominating early. Everybody gotta get their shots up....

It starts with Whitford. He is soft and thus so is his team. It’s like he wants to be more of a buddy to them than a coach. If looks like he’s afraid to come down on them for fear he’ll lose their affection for him? I mean, look at Gunn, he comes in the game we’re down 15 and he takes a 3, that has no chance of going in, at about 5 seconds into the shot clock and Whitford doesn’t yank him out? Then how does he foul out that quickly unless you just aren't disciplined enough to actually guard someone using your feet! Then there's Teague bringing the ball up court and shooting the 3 ball...what the ..? It’s like Whitford is like Tom Cream is/was, baby them, be their buddy and their fondness for you as a coach will cover up your inability to coach and discipline. Lastly, we’re just so easy to figure out from an opposing coach standpoint. No wonder we get our lunch handed to us by piss poor teams!

Ball State 48% FG, 28 rebounds, 21 TO, 19 fouls, 4 FTMade Miami 39% FG, 19 rebounds, 8 TO, 10 fouls, 16 FTMade It's a fascinating stat line. If you just look at the first two, FG percentage and rebounds, one would conclude the team shooting 48% and out rebounding their opponent surely won. BSU actually made 1 more FG than Miami, 23 vs. 22. The difference was they made 11 3-pointers to our 3. That and our constant fouling. Got to hand it to the Miami coach, in his first year he has build a better back court to what Whitford has taken 5 years to amass. Ringo certainly outplayed Persons and Nike Sibande looked better than any of our SG's. Not sure about Adaway, but Whitford really should have signed Nike Sibande

We need to put a full court press on Ali Ali. If we aren’t going to win the conference, we at least need good player names.

i know more about football than basketball, so here is a question for you wannabe coaches. what in the hell is fouling away from the ball? how can this happen? mr. gunn i think was called for 3 of these today. is this lack of discipline or is it a skill issue.

SPLATT GOES THE EGG...Laid a big one with more to come. Another mediocre effort by a mediocre team. I thought we might have a chance to make some noise but alas alack we have reverted back to our true ways. Sorry guys but it is all but over. Wait till next year.

I could be wrong, but it seemed to me most of his fouls today were on moving picks where he failed to get set before attempting to run-off the defender.

Maybe Whitford is angling to get fired so he can join the growing line of former BSU head coaches to become an assistant at IU, now that Archie is residing in Bloomington.
BTW, what's Buckley up to these days?

We as fans are angry. But is anyone inside the program angry? Whit talks about them “playing the right way” but does he ever talk about playing hard? With intensity? Passion? Fire? Desire? Caring? Refusing to lose? It’s all so.... soft. This coach has already been given two extensions. I think that should tell you everything you need to know about what the powers that be think of this program.

Cant blame me for this one.. I did not even see the score till after 8. Watching the replay now this was just a shitshow of BSUish garbage. I was really hoping this would not be the case but I think its just going to be the same old show. We drank the Kool aid for a couple months but its going to be the same old thing. Win a couple lose a couple maybe win a game in cleveland.. This is not championship level team just too many problems..

I have a recurring dream that Whit is taking a job as an assistant coach of foul shooting at Maryland at the end of the season.

Exactly. Sandy has dug us in deep with Whit where the buyout would probably be about $1 million. As if today looking at the big picture Whitford looks like a moderate upgrade from Billy Taylor. His yr 5 is better, yr 3 barely better. Yr 4 pretty much equal to Taylor's. Worse first 2 seasons. Giving contract extensions based of 2 CIT appearances is part of the issue for sure. Anything less than a NIT berth is not extension worthy.
