Ish is not disappointing. He's a sophomore and the first meaningful game of the season. Walton is taking some of his playing time and he is learning to work with a different role. No one is worried about his offense its his defense he is absolutely lost out there. He has no clue at all Yes, he just gets beat too often. Not sure what exactly the issue is. He is not as athletic as everyone expected, but has reasonably long arms, and that isn't quite it. If he is anticipating to make up for lack of quickness, he is not doing a very good job of it. If he is not, and it's clueless that we see, maybe he'll learn from sad experience, but it doesn't look a lot better than last year.

All in all I'm satisfied. Teams with good post play are going to cause us serious problems, but that's not a new revelation. I generally liked our new guys. Yep. I assume we’ll improve a little bit inside once Trey is back up to speed but in general we’re just not strong inside. Hazen is athletic but he’s not strong so he won’t keep bigs off the block either. We are definitely built to get out and run, and we can defend the perimeter better, but if we get bogged down in a half court offense we may not have the shooters to do well there. But when we can attack the rim we’re pretty dang good. Would really be good if trey gives up on attempting fancy moves and dribble drives. Wild flips in the general direction of the back board don’t work for him. Just be solid big fella! We are built to run! No doubt about that. No problem with playing up tempo but against the better programs on our schedule, you have to be able to control the boards and or create lots of turnovers to have the advantage playing fast. We are going to find out Saturday if we are going to be able to compete on the glass against a program that is typically a very good rebounding team. Hazen is going to get numbers and so will Teague and Moses but don't look at the individual numbers, at the end of the night, see the number of offensive rebounds and shots taken. I love the way Hazen plays! I think I have said before that he is a taller more athletic version of Sean Parrish.

Ish is not disappointing. He's a sophomore and the first meaningful game of the season. Walton is taking some of his playing time and he is learning to work with a different role. In 13 minutes of play Ish was 2-3 from three point range for 6 points. He had 2 rebounds, 1 foul, and 1 turnover. No assists. Bump that up to 26 minutes and it would be 12 points 4 rebounds and 2 turnovers. He needs more assists, but that is not unproductive. No one is worried about his offense its his defense he is absolutely lost out there. He has no clue at all That’s really what I mean. I don’t think we can afford to play him extended minutes unless his defense improves.

We really need to try to deny post entry passes as well. Once a big dude catches the ball deep on us we’re toast. No Gunn cannot guard the post, or even a sign post. Ish is disappointing. Hopefully he’ll find his mojo. Mallers didn’t play well but big games lie ahead for him. Ish is not disappointing. He's a sophomore and the first meaningful game of the season. I respectfully disagree. He was beaten off the dribble on almost every possession and causes us major issues when he has to guard the ball. I agree that he is playing a different position but I believe that is by design. Yes, he is a sophomore but I had higher expectations for him and he is not living up to them as of today. I was and am really shocked about his lateral quickness. He is really slow for a guy that came to BSU as a highly rated prospect. He is not terrible but his playing time should and probably will be much less then last year. Can he handle that will be the question?

Gunn and Ish both didn't have great games. Hopefully both are just taking a minute to get into the groove.

I just saw something that really made me feel good and showed me how hard at least one person on the team is working.. I was driving home and I saw Taylor jogging by himself down Riggin road. I love the fact that its the morning after a game and he is running miles from campus on his own time. I admire the worth ethic.. I'm more concerned that he'll get run over by one of the multitudes of shitty Muncie drivers. They seem to be either too old to see over the steering wheel, or distracted by their cell phones. But yeah, I heard he had shed some weight and had focused on his conditioning. Good to see that kind of commitment.

I'm also very disappointed to not see any shots of our fans eating Democracy Dogs last night on ESPN+. Were the Worthen Weenies a let down?

I sacrificed 3 democracy dogs for the Republic. I’m sure Calhoun got involved in the cause as well.

ive watched him in warmups two games now. He is a big body and moves pretty well. Not sure why we do not use him for 5 fouls and some rebounds

He is being saved for Purdue when we will see if he can give us that kind of game.
