Our overall current index composite is a 125 compared to a 137 this time last season. If you want to call that better go right ahead. I'd label the start of this season same old thing all over again. Sagarin 113, KenPom 109.
You say same old thing. For most of the last 16 years this would not be same old thing. It is better, with solid chances to improve. Two things which were not something we saw much of over 16 years.
Most here aren't dancing with joy but acknowledge we are better.

And of course you Cherry Pick two, this time next week when we are 135+ in both those you will ignore them completely. I also love "solid chances to improve".................WTF does that mean ? Why are we more capable of improving this season than past seasons ?

Why are we more capable of improving this season than past seasons ? No. I have consistently pointed to these two in contrast to RPI and related measures though. Never ignored either. OK. Perhaps a dose of skepticism about all the measures early on including Sagarin.
As for solid chances to improve. Why is it different? Well.
Trey, Gunn, Hazen, Ish, Josh, and Nehls have all had past performance indicating they can do better. I do not expect all of them to continue to disappoint.
And, in contrast to past seasons we have more talent on the bench, not be relying on Freshmen to play important roles, we have more experience and a very good senior leader in Persons.
In contrast to the last season, I really don't expect to lose two starter quality players after mid season which forced us to play differently late.

This is a better team than last yr & has more depth. The loss of the 2 guards last season probably cost us 3 wins maybe more.

Finally got to watch the game last night and was disappointed in the play. No killer instinct. Mosses, I like him, but man he doesn’t finish the play. Dissaponted in the play of Ish, Gunn, and Hazen. What about Coleman and Huggins. Play was inconsistent. I feel we could have, should have won by 20+. Thought I’d feel good about the win, but I wasn’t. Extremely disappointed by the play of so many of the players. Player of the game - KJ, but even he disappeared in the second half. The way they stopped us under the basket was hard to watch. Random thoughts, but it’s early and I need my cup of coffee real bad. Hmmmm.....seems like David was a modern Nostradamus with his comment following the first E’ville game.
