Evansville forward John Hall said in an interview that when they called timeout in the first half when they were down 17 that Persons and Moses were seen going to the BSU bench flexing their muscles. He said that action fired their team up and the Aces began taking over the game. Too much NBATV

Well, the Cards did make ESPN Top 10. Not on the good side of it but any news is good news, right?

Moses the forum has been asking he start looking alive, he's obviously been listening and was just following advice.

If you can’t back it up... We played like shit the rest of the way. Where was the flexing then? If you’re gonna do stuff like that you’d better be ready to step on the throat and finish them off. Otherwise let sleeping dogs lie. Evansville decided to punch us in the mouth after that and we didn’t respond. Instead we rolled over. (And I think we want Moses alive with his play, not necessarily flexing on the way to the bench).

He is just a beginner at this thuggish swagger thing. Still needs to learn the fine points I agree.

He accuses of me of wanting my team to be robotic. I prefer my team to act like they've been there before and expect to win. I am a get off my lawn guy, though. It's all fun and games while you are winning.

Gotta find that balance of passion and intensity with being smart. Understand time and place. For sure have swagger and confidence. Don’t flex and then fold.

1-12 on threes in the second half killed us. Otherwise the stats are actually pretty good. The only other thing that stands out is Walton had 1 freaking rebound. That's just a lack of effort on his part.

Once we lost that mental edge we were soft toast. Had thought this team had overcome that issue.

It's strange, Persons is all too willing to play hero ball but when it come to actual leadership, huddling players and working through a tough spot he is nonexistent. I didn't see the game so I don't know, but in the past Whitford has been really bad about using timeouts to stop a rally.

But wait, Whit says Persons has matured..... (but also talks about Tayler losing his mind after bad calls or hard fouls)

I agree with you for the most part and I also agree Tayler deff has some warts but I think there have been a couple games this year where we needed more Hero from Persons. He seems to be less aggressive this year which is good because he is getting others involved more but there are times when he just needs to say f it and go.. Fine line there I guess
